Colab with @Foxtaco🥳

Send in "1 short question" or something you want us to address from IWTV Seasons 1 and 2. So we can discuss them in our upcoming IWTV collab videos. We were chatting earlier today and we thought it would be fun and more chill to answer questions with the full context of both seasons. Instead of just episode reviews (which seemed a bit too rigid.. and more time-consuming if I'm being honest) - Have fun💐

HAHAHAHAHA yes, I completely agree with you. To me, Claudia and Louis are the most vicious. Things are not always as it seems on the surface. And you're right, Lestat is the most noble of all of them. I can't wait to see things without Louis perspective. And to see Lestat with G!!!! 😭😭😭

Victoria

Oh totally... If Claudia wasn't as cute as she is, viewers of the show would realize that she BY FAR is the most heartless killer with no sympathy for humans at all (unless she happens to personally like a particular human...e.g. Charlie and Madeleine). And all those qualities you mentioned (which people absolutely eviscerate Lestat about) she has those qualities just as much if not more. In fact, probably people won't agree with me (yet) but of all the vampires, Lestat is generally the most honest. We book folk have a broader perspective, tho. 😉

ArcAngel

Sure. I think that's actually clever from the series because it puts the audience in the same position as the people in Claudia's life even if it's intentional or not. They treat her like a child, even though she isn’t one, and as the audience, you're tricked into doing the same. Because of this, both the characters and the audience never treat Claudia as a woman accountable for her actions—which is all she ever wanted. It's tragic. It offers another perspective on the character. I think it's well done, but it’s undeniably sad. Personally, I love Claudia, but I can't see her as an innocent child because she isn’t one. At times, she’s evil, selfish, unfair to Lestat, and manipulative. But hey, everyone in this series is like that! My girl is just fierce! 😂💌

Victoria

That's a good question and something which I wonder about as a book fan (originally). Because, when reading the books, it's much easier to remember that Claudia is 50years old (approx) or at the very least, she isn't a child. When reading the books, you focus on her dialogue and it's very obvious within 15 years or so, she isn't a child anymore. She clearly has an adult mind. But while watching the show (for me, especially with Delaney) she is so cute and so loveable it's almost impossible to remember that's a 40+ year old woman in there! 😂 Seriously -- I can't keep my mind from thinking of Delaney as "an adventurous teenager" or "acting out, as teens do". How different would we feel if she looked like a middle aged woman, I wonder? It's something which was easier to conceptualize in the book (that her mind was definitely adult despite her body remaining childish) because in the books you aren't constantly looking at her cute self!

ArcAngel

Short question you said? IM SORRY, I will NOT be mad if I'm ignored, but I had to... 😂 First off—do you think Lestat ever truly cared for Claudia? How did you view their relationship (before the last episode, of course), and what were your thoughts on it? And on that note... what didn't you like about Claudia? I see a lot of people discussing the flaws of the vampires in this series, but almost no one talks about the moments where Claudia was cruel, inconsiderate, or showed little empathy. I feel like her character doesn’t get the same “respect” as the others—in the sense that the audience often sees her as a child throughout her life, and because of that, many of her actions are excused, while other characters would be judged more harshly. Sure, she didn’t choose to be a vampire. But neither did Lestat, and by the end of the series, she’s what—50 or 60 years old? I think that’s more than enough time to hold her accountable for her faults, even if we still love her. 😂 After all, every vampire in this series is a monster.

Victoria

I posted a bit of a long-winded one over on Fox's page, but it can be summed up: Could Claudia and Madeleine REALLY have had a happy ending, knowing that vampires created at such a young age weren't destined to "make it" historically. cheers ;)

sabrina venable

An alternate quick question (in case someone already asked my last question): If you were a vampire from this universe, and if you could make only one fledgling, would you prefer a love interest or a best friend (for this question, assume you haven't found someone who is both as that's obviously the ideal). If you don't want to choose in those terms, what characteristics would you seek in a human if you were looking to find a person to be your fledgling vampire and eternal companion (considering how fraught that relationship can become)?

ArcAngel

I really can not wait! This is gonna be so great! I'm gonna post one question on each of your posts so that it is an even split. I would love it if you two talked about the theme of memory and how it was handled in the show. Not just in regard to Louis but to all the other characters and how you think that affected how you perceived the story as a whole and the individual characters. A couple of prompts to help get you started: - the different narration of events; also whose narrations do you trust, why or why not? - erased, forgotten, or suppressed memories - objects that hold memories, like the music box, Lestat's letter to Louis, the paintings of Amadeo, Claudia's diaries - "am I my history I have endured?" (Armand, S2E4), or rather "are we the sum of our memories?" Happy talking!

Maria

Ooh, exciting! I can't wait! :D And apologies that I can't quite commit to only 1 question/topic, but feel free to only pick one.... Do you think that Louis did ask Armand to erase his memories of SF? (I'm not committing to a definite opinion because it could technically go either way, but given that Armand has absolutely no shame about lying and a motive to cover up what happened in SF, and Louis' attitude is more along the lines of not having stones removed from his ankles so he doesn't forget, I lean towards Louis didn't ask) Also just in general I am so curious to hear you two discuss Armand. What is his deal? Did he ever tell the truth about anything and will we ever know?? How/why do you think Lestat ended up at the trial? Do you think Madeleine was what Claudia needed to survive?

Leticia

Apologies for my insanity and like 5 questions not 1. Let's call me passionate not annoying. 😂😂😂

Melissa

The snippet we got of 70s-Louis discussing Claudia leaving in 2x05 also made me rethink the train scene a little - the way Louis tells it in the 70s he seems genuinely suicidal and desperate that she's leaving, which gives Lestat an actual understandable motive for stopping Claudia leaving, as opposed to him just wanting to control them

Leticia

Will you review the single scenes you will discuss? I would love that.

Myra

We got you Melissa🙏🏿♥️

Raymond Walker

I would love to hear you guys discuss the train scene with Lestat and Claudia, in consideration of the flashback of Claudia’s turning in season 2 episode 7. Because up until the flashback, I was still confused why Lestat stopped Claudia from going away (season 1 made it seem that he was just desperate and kinda evil but it seemed kinda shallow) but with Louis’ begging, everything clicked and Lestat’s (and Louis’) character has even more depth in them. Lestat’s “come home and make him happy” (season 1) versus Louis’ “I’ll be happy, for you, for her” (Season 2). I haven’t really seen other reactors discuss or comment on this, so I hope you guys do 😊

Babi~

As a patron of both of you… What do you think about Armand being the one to turn Daniel? We know from S1 that the vampire bond is very strong, we know from S2 that Armand had never made a vampire before, and from the perspective of Louis and Madeline we know that a maker and vampire can “feel” each other even if they can’t telepathically communicate. Plus the vampires want to kill Louis for breaking laws, but we don’t know what vampires in the world think about Armand and Daniel. This sets up an intense bond between Armand and Daniel, whether or not they like or hate each other; what do you think the show will do with that bond? How will it pay off or have consequences?

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

Just to give you a quick, fun one as an option: What would be your favorite vampire super power from this mythology?

ArcAngel

Jacob cannot be made unattractive IMO 🔥, but the one I like least is Paris.

Melissa

I would be interested to hear your views on the extent to which you think we have seen an accurate portrayal of events pre Dubai and how much is the unreliable narrator. Also how did your feelings about Molloy change as the show progressed?

Jo

So excited for this! I posted mine on Fox's page.

Melissa

lol Griffith too? 😂 perfect

Jessie

Modern day Dubai is my second choice. ☺️

Myra

lol all valid answers.

Jessie

It's modern day Dubai for me!

Melissa

Haha😅

Raymond Walker

okay i had a moment to think and you guys really covered a lot in your commentary, and i'm just looking for some general discussion on your likes and dislikes from the show, as well as your thoughts on the cast and crew/any interviews you may have seen! also, whether or not delainey should return to haunt lestat in the next season

aura aurify

Please discuss how all three men: Armand, Louis. And Lestat choked Claudia. All three men assaulted her the same way, but only Lestat abuse is brought up.

Alisha

You did not ask me, but I want to answer: I liked Louis hair in season one so much. 😍

Myra

Very serious question: The show did a great job of showing the versatility of black hair. Which era of Louis' hairstyle do y'all prefer: - Relaxed and slicked-back waves in New Orleans 1910-1940 (season 1) - Natural and brushed back in France 1940s (season 2) - Afro in 1970s (season 2) - Loose twists in modern day Dubai So excited to finally see you two colab! Happy holidays!

Jessie

I left some, not at all short, questions in Taco’s comments. Love both you guys’ reactions and I know this conversation is gonna be AMAZING. I cannot wait. Both of you were obviously emotionally affected my Claudia’s/Madeline’s deaths in S2E7 (aren’t we all), and I know you each had your own kind of takeaways from the reveal/twist in the season 2 finale and how you both seemed to feel directly after you finished the entire thing. I’d love to know how both of you feel now having stepped away from it a little bit — how do you feel about Louis/Armand\Lestat through the lens of responsibility for everything? I’m so sorry, I am not a short-winded person 😬 Also glad to see Taco added “de Lioncourt” to his full government name. As a fellow brat prince stan, I’ve considered doing the same.

Amanda Hill

If you had to pick a favourite scene/moment each what would it be? Both by itself and/or in the context of the show overall?

Sólveig

YES. LMAO

Raymond Walker

No no no it's perfect!

Raymond Walker

Take as long as you want. We plan to make multiple videos

Franklin

oh gaddd😭

Franklin

😂 Raymond D. Griffith de Lioncourt

Franklin

I’m just saying it would be a great question. I could think of a better one tho

Ron

Take your time ☺️

Raymond Walker

Oh you wanna make us cry huh?

Raymond Walker

What's fox tacos real name

Raymond Walker

What do you think Claudia would be doing right now if she was still here?

Ron
