Thank you. I’m so glad it made sense. I’m not the best at saying things and having them make sense and be understood the way I wanted them to. And I’m honored that you took the time to respond. I truly appreciate that. Not all content creators take the time to reply to comments (which I know that y’all are so busy and I understand that it takes time to record, edit and make sure that your content is at its very best and I appreciate the time and effort that you put into your work) so it’s that much more special to me that you took the time to respond. Thank you for your kind words and thank you for all of the time you put into your content. It means a lot to me. Also, I remember when my mom, my sister and I were reading this book and we all laughed so much at Minnie’s “terrible awful” 😂😂😂. But seriously, truly grateful to you for your like and your response. I’m a life long fan from here on. You do incredible work. And I couldn’t be more grateful. I look forward to seeing and getting caught up on your videos and reactions. 😊🤗

Much love. You are very appreciated. I'm glad you're enjoying it here

Franklin

That totally makes sense Karen and I applaud you for that. Love always wins

I understand to an extent why watching movies or police body cam footage of the brutality that many black Americans, and black men in particular, have suffered through can be triggering and hard to see. And I say that I understand to an extent because I am a middle aged white woman, so I can never truly understand how you feel. But I am ashamed that you still feel (and rightly so) scared or worried every time you see a police officer or are pulled over due to racial profiling. I for one say speak their name. Trayvon Martin, George Floyd. And the many many others. Because they deserve to be remembered and where I understand you, I for sure will remember their names and remember their lives and I hope that I can make a difference by remembering them. It’s so frustrating that racism still exists in this day and age. I will remember them forever and remember them when it’s painful and scary for you. I hope that I can be someone that others can lean on. Be the shoulder to cry on. Be the ear to listen when others need to be heard. And one by one and day by day hopefully racism will cease to exist. I know that seems impossible. But I have hope that our children will be the difference. I hope I don’t come across as offensive or anything like that because I am not trying to be. Together we can make a difference and teach our children better. After all, kids aren’t born with hate in their hearts. That’s learned from their parents and I hope that I taught my girls enough to know love and respect and not hatred. I love everyone and respect everyone and if I come across someone who only knows hatred, I hope that I can be strong and brave enough to try to understand why they only know hatred and maybe once I see why, maybe I can show them love and kindness and help them to try to change for the better and end the cycle of hatred. I hope that makes sense.

Viola Davis is so good in this movie. And what’s sad to me is that there are still some people today who still have the same racist feelings and beliefs and it’s sickening. But I do love this movie so much. I love your reaction videos. I’m new to your Patreon channel. And I do want to add that I love your voice. You have a beautiful voice.

💜💜💜💜 one day at a time my friend

Franklin

Viola Davis is so unmatched. What a beautiful talent she & Octavia are. The whole cast was great. Speaking of great actors, I never realized David Oyelowo was the pastor 😅 The scene where we find out what happened to Constantine breaks my heart every time. Cicely Tyson is a legend. And don’t even get me started on the scene with Aibileen having to walk away from that baby girl 😭 I usually use media to escape, but some stories are worth experiencing. Thank you for sharing why it’s so hard to watch these movies that are sometimes too real about the world. Especially as I’m watching this vid the week that a Federal judge cleared the 2 cops that killed Breonna Taylor, putting all the blame on her BF who was just defending them. The shit news feels like it will never end - it’s frightening & overwhelming. That being said, thank you for the, “You aint Jesus” reminder. One day at a time, each of us doing a little - hopefully with even a fraction of the courage of these Black women.

Very true. I found so much comfort in Minnie and Celia's relationship. It was one of the many bright spots of the movie. Awesome quotes from the movie. I will definitely remember them I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction and the many chatting moments. It was a lovely and empowering Thank you thank you for joining the conversation

Franklin

No judge me here my guy. This one was kind of rough. You are very welcome

Franklin

True. Sometimes I even feel its very difficult to make those hateful characters convincing. To bring them to life. Takes a great actor

Franklin

Very true

Franklin

Oh my goodness. I thought I recognized that address from somewhere but could not put my finger on it. That's Murph from Interstellar😭💜 the moment I read your comment it just flooded into my mind. She has so much range All the leading women in this movie have amazing range so so good

Franklin

She said it's with her whole chest and with so much prestige🤣

Franklin

Yes that is him my wife confirmed. Oh my goodness I guessed all the names in the world and still didn't guess Emma Stone smh

Franklin

That moment was amazing indeed. Perfect song for the outro. Makes so much sense that it was Mary J Blige. She's amazing. I couldn't recognize whose voice it was

Franklin

It's a great one

Franklin

You're very welcome Jessi. This movie felt so right. Thanks for watching.

Franklin

I never watched West Wing....was she an agresive mother thre too? I am a figure skating fan and always loved Tomya Harding...Allison played Lavona Golding...so perfectly..it was hard to tell her from the real Lavona Harding...I love that woman's work...Hairspray..same idea and same skill

mark

Allison Janney, my favorite part of The West Wing!

Christina H

He was in a very recent show also, "Call Me Kat". That show was on when he passed - the show they did as a tribute, the ending made me cry. The show might be silly, but that one nailed it.

Christina H

My favorite relationship was between Minnie and Celia Foote....I loved their mutual caring for each other & how they were just themselves with one another. Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain are so great...I love them both in this movie:) Three quotes I love from this movie......."Minnie don't burn chicken." "You is kind, You is smart, You is important" and of course..."the terrible awful". Each one brings the emotion and joy of the movie to me, in a heartbeat...and I can see the characters saying them (Makes me smile every time ) This was a really great reaction, with MANY great chatting moments ...THANK YOU for sharing your thoughts about the movie, and about life.....We all are better for it, listening to each other......SO THANK YOU! This was a wonderful watch:)

BRENDA

Leslie Jordan: Sordid Lives, Will and Grace, others I can't think of righjt now...yes...he will be missed

mark

oh my goodness! That was a very specal movie...I had to stop at the last 30 minutes as I ran out of ciggarettes...judge me all you like...I was not finishing this movie without a cigarette! Thank you, FrankFreezy...for real. Buenas Noches

mark

i just realized...the mother is the same actor from 'Hairspray' and 'I Tonya' ...damn...she is good at these roles. No Cap, someone has to play those roles. I love Her...Alyson somthing. YES!

mark

This was played yesterday...I'm at the 20 minute mark, you said somthing to the tune 'I know the movie is a product of its time'...NO..I wish, but that time is stil now in too many circles.

mark

Frank! Another of your favorite actresses is in this movie and I don’t think you recognized her!!! Speaks to her talent! Celia Foote is played by Jessica Chastain of The Martian and Interstellar. The talent in this film resulted in three Oscar nominations (for Best Motion Picture, for Best Actress - Viola Davis, and for Best Supporting Actress - Jessica Chastain). Octavia Spencer won The Oscar for Best Supporting Actress! Wow.

Kendall P

😂😂”Minnie don’t burn chicken!”😂😂

Christina H

The gentleman you recognized his Leslie Jordan. Funny little man, I adored him. He passed away almost 2 years ago. He was in a lot of things. And Skeeter (the writer/author) is played by Emma Stone. :)

Christina H

I love this movie so so much. When Maymobely says you're my real momma Aibie, I felt that real deep. IMO, there's no better song for the outro than The living proof by Mary J Blige. Great reaction Franklin!

Suzanne Anderson

Loved watching this movie again!!

Rae McCormack

I've been so looking forward to your take on this one! Made my morning! Thank you!!!

Jessi

Awesome message for your “allies “, Frank. Beautifully said!

Chris Costelloe

Franklin, you left me, breathless with your deep understanding of how far as a species we have come and how much further as a species we have yet to go. It is your generation that gives me the greatest hope. And yes, it is like a marathon where you hand the baton onto the next runner as we progress forward together in our humanity. World of humanity is in a great watershed period in the world that is going to test all humanity in a great turning a watershed moment that happens almost every hundred years. It is going to take all the love, kindness and strength of character to pass through this next decade as the chaff is separated from the wheat.

Laura Thate

Yes, finally!! 😍 I can finally afford Pateron this month too, perfect after getting back on my feet after a small operation. Makes me cry so much every time though. So much about being a mother, hits so hard. On top of all the other mining things. It's cleansing to me. I understand it must be hard in a whole other way to you though. I feel sorry for making you watch this. Sorry.

♥️

🧿

Birthing blues is Postpartum depression. Skeeter is played by Emma Stone. This is a movie based upon a book that is a really good read. Great reaction and the cast is stellar especially Viola Davis/Abeleine and Octavia Spencer/Minnie. Octavia won best supporting Oscar for this. Jessica Chastain/Celia Foote was also nominated supporting actress. Viola was nominated for Best Actress but didn't win.
