17:12 - this whole explanation of chess by d'angelo and the way he's relating it to their life is SO good. i have a lot of favorite moments throughout the show, but this scene is up there and still a memorable one to me. also "unless they some smart-ass pawns", i love bodie so much. :')

I’m not usually into this type of content because it is still a reality today as it was in the 60s 70s and 80s. After the Iran Contra affair where the CIA brought in drugs to the inner city and gun were run into South America, nothing I’m saying is a classified obviously it’s well known for people my age. Colonel Oliver was convicted, but pardon later by Reagan, so many others involved with the exception of the CIA, which is an entity on its own it is not governed by the US government is the shadow that runs, the dirty work of the US oligarchic in elite to overthrow other nations for their economic benefit. Crack was intentionally put into the black poor big city street so Reagan can do a just say no to drugs pass some laws headed by then congressman Joe Biden called the “war on drugs“ it was a way too demonize and break apart black families in poverty so that Joe Biden the youngest congressman at the time could make mandatory 25 sentences for crack three strike laws you can find YouTube C-SPAN videos where he brags about how the laws he got passed under the crime bill ensure his children and white children didn’t have to grow up in a desegregated “jungle,” Detroit, New York, LA, San Francisco, Chicago we hit the hardest. It tore apart the nuclear family and was specifically done to the black community that lived in the projects. They still have red lining to this day, but just a new name gentrification. The cops were horrible back then they planted evidence they were as dirty as you couldn’t get, they still have in the cities cops that literally belong to their own gang. Another well-known piece of history that still lives on today. Compton has gone up in flames three times in my life because of the destruction of the black family. Hi unemployment educational opportunities, broken homes, police, intimidation, and murders, the whole works. I am sad to say that in reality, nothing has changed. The drugs are the only thing that is changed. We went from crack, cocaine, to heroin smuggled in coffins of US soldiers coming home from Vietnam, in some states to get life in prison just for a dime bag of pot. now our police departments are sent over to Israel to learn from the Massad the techniques oh abusing our citizens. Police have what’s called qualified immunity, which started out as qualified immunity for district attorneys. August 2012 the Supreme Court decided to change police policy across the US that “police no longer have to serve or protect citizens, their only job is to enforce the law.” this was done under President Barack Obama. Barack Obama also militarized our police with leftover military gear from all of the war we illegally entered into such as the attack of Iraq, Syria, Libya, 20 years in Afghanistan. Before then, there was never true tanks on the streets in the US, hell even small, southern Podunk towns with nobody to really police or rocket launchers! I watched geopolitics very closely and I have watched as the US outsourced our jobs to foreign countries that paid nothing if not very little to other nations to produce our goods cheaply, so that people here would not feel be impact of all these wars because it can still buy things cheap and be easily fooled for the past 40+ years. The immigration crisis is blowback from all our illegal and unconstitutional wars of aggression and sanctions against other nations and then Covid hit. Deepening the poverty and the stabilization of these torn nations, and they are now coming here because they believe this is the land of opportunity and the only safe place. Their children won’t have to worry about bombs constantly dropping on their heads or walking on a mine, it didn’t explode. We’re entering a period of time where totalitarianism will reign supreme here with facial recognition, crimes just think 1984 and animal farm and you’re going to get a glimpse into the next 15 years or more of a dying empire known as the US. We will go the way of the Romans. 800 military bases across the world control over our and the western NATO nations/EU nations the dirty work of the US. Generational trauma going back to the original sin of the overthrow of the indigenous people of this country and the sin of the useless slaves I’m around now again my apologies for being off topic. I was triggered by the beating of the young man on the ground for punching the old fat cop. I seen many many things with these old eyes, the more the more they stay the same, they just put new names and new boxes, labels to keep us all fighting with ourselves, so we don’t look up at the ones who are truly destroying the world as we at the bottom and the middle are manipulated and more isolated than ever from one another’s humanity. Please forgive me for being old and so serious, but this is a representation of history, continuing to repeat citizens willfully, remaining ignorant, and not building community to move it forward in a positive way. We all have a choice. We were all born to fulfill the best of ourselves, and I have found that to be in service of mine fellowcommunity members fulfills a great void when elders and young ones work together to strengthen one another and carry on the work that was started in the 60s with MLK, Malcolm, X, Black Panthers. We are intentionally being divided and Weaponized against one another and intentionally disconnected from each other so that the circus above can go on much like the band that played on the Titanic as it was sinking.
