Yes, that is a different actress playing the girlfriend, Jennifer. The original actress took a break from acting due to her mom being sick. Nike did design those shoes, and they did 2 limited releases of the shoe in the 2010’s. It’s so amusing now to see how the BttF creators in 1989 thought so optimistically of the future. There was a bit of an internet/cultural “holiday” on 10/21/2015, the day they arrive to the future. I think there were a few brand collabs, and just fans all over reminiscing about the movie, and laughing at both how far we’ve come & what the movie got right/wrong. Hoverboards? Kinda. Flying cars? Nope. Personally, I’m still waiting for that enlarging pizza 😆 But hey, we’ve already come a long way from 2015. Btw, take a second look at the scene with the arcade game in the diner. See if you can recognize the little boy in the red shirt
