Whenever you take requests or do polls, please consider 2 more GREAT Kevin Costner movies…DRAGONFLY (2002 supernatural thriller) & THE GUARDIAN (Kevin Costner & Ashton Kutcher/Coast guard rescue swimmers! Coast Guard not given enough credit for what they do…IMO) Thanks for great reactions. Btw your wife and your mom have great taste in movies!! 🍿

2024-04-02 16:18:56 +0000 UTCIf you’ve seen Donnie Darko, the actress who played “Stands With a Fist” plays is Donnie’s mom.

2024-03-27 03:14:09 +0000 UTCYes yes. I hope this movie gave a lot of people back then a good view at indigenous folks, their beautiful ways of life and culture and how they are not the problem at all.

2024-03-24 17:03:58 +0000 UTCOne of my All Time Fave movies growing up! The Beauty of the Lakota tribe portrayed and all their harmonious ways <3 The scene with the coffee and sugar was always a fave (the communication lol). As someone with both Native and Conquistador blood, this film was such a blessing. Kevin Costner has a lot of love for this time period and the true history of this country. May I suggest The Last of the Mohicans as a future watch, it's an incredible film directed by Michael Mann (known for cop movies like Heat) starring a young Daniel Day Lewis. It takes place in America before it was the US - that's all I'll say. Truly enjoy watching along with you and happy to have found your channel.

2024-03-24 16:55:49 +0000 UTCDon't even get me STARTED on Red Dead Redemption. I could go on for HOURS about how much it changed the way I write and tell stories. The first game has been one of my favorites for an incredible amount of time because it was the first game to make me feel something in a long time. I remember how empty I felt when I was done with it. Same with the Mass Effect series. Because, to me, the best things I've read/watched has always been character driven. Simple story/plot (for RDR: find these men, do your job, etc. or for Mass Effect: save the galaxy, nbd.) in comparison to massively complicated characters (the ones we watch struggle and grow and change, full of nuances and complexity and emotions that we may not agree with but understand, etc.). I could cry a thousand times over the way we get to watch a cast of characters learn and grow and change over the course of those games, and I still wouldn't be done. Like I said, it made me reevaluate how I write my own stories and develop my own characters. Maybe one day I'll share some of my writing with you! If you ever have the time to sit down and read my rambles, haha!

2024-03-23 19:39:29 +0000 UTCThank you Tater. This movie had everything. From the serious themes to the humor. Thanks for elaborating on some of these things. yesssss,. I knew I knew that actor from somewhere. He looks so young in this movie. Heck they all do. I remember the beautiful story he told Tom Hanks character in his cell before his execution. Such a great actor.

2024-03-23 16:06:35 +0000 UTCA beautiful reaction to a great film. I am so happy you enjoyed this as much as I had hoped. Like you, I was fascinated with all the communication aspects and I'm glad the movie features it so heavily. This was mainly filmed in South Dakota. The fort in Nebraska that they surrender to at the end of the movie is about 150-200 miles away. The war you see at the beginning of the film is the American Civil War. When the north fought the south basically. A couple of bits of trivia.... when he is making his suicide ride at the beginning of the film... one man is about to make the kill shot but gets taken out by a headshot from the other side.... the man that took that headshot is Kevin Costner's father. He let his dad save him in the movie. Also, you may recognize Kicking Bird as being the first inmate to ride the electric chair in The Green Mile.

2024-03-22 00:18:06 +0000 UTCJohn Dunbar? More like John Marston, amirite!? But I love this movie, my mom loves this movie, my grandmother loves this movie... It's just... so damn good. I don't know how else to say it! But I'm glad we're enjoying this together! I haven't seen this in ages and it's such a comfort. Ya girl got herself a written final at work so I needed some comfort, and this? This is perfect.
