That's so interesting about the Christian allegory in the film. Pretty good detail

2024-03-09 17:18:12 +0000 UTCIt's only a media myth that all Americans have guns and weapons. Guns are very expensive and the vast majority of Americans have to set their money aside for other things. Also Christian allegory is all over this movie. Bo's glasses of water are always in groups of three = the holy trinity. Water itself is considered a purifier = the only thing that can harm the aliens. And later when it snows outside, the land is being purified.

2024-03-09 15:23:04 +0000 UTCI think it is probably because they simply never encountered it before. If something is strange to you then you may not recognize it as a danger until it is too late. That is why you would never let kids near a stove, they are unaware it can harm them.

2024-03-07 23:12:34 +0000 UTClmao this comment definitely got a good laugh out of meππ you are so right. Dumbest in the universe for sure. During the end of the movie when it was said over the TV that "some humans found a primitive method to defeat them" I was wondering what it was. Yep water, just straight water lol

2024-03-07 23:03:33 +0000 UTCIt was great to re watch this movie with your reaction. But i always wondering, they are the dumbest aliens in the universe, they can travel across the galaxy and they go to a planet with 2/3 of water that can kill them all in a second, even rain can kill them in an instant.

2024-03-07 10:27:35 +0000 UTCTo answer one of your questions near the beginning of this reaction... while you now know this isn't part of some Shymalan "shared universe" of films... he does have such a collection. However, I don't even want to tell you which ones they are, as that can also be a bit of a spoiler. I suppose as long as you announce which M. Night movies you are planning to watch before you watch them, we can make sure you don't watch these 3 out of order.

2024-03-04 18:10:17 +0000 UTCyikesss! That sounds horrible. Makes me think of the Britney Spears proprietorship or other child actors whose parents were just the worst

2024-02-27 15:31:15 +0000 UTCI should have known by now that all of his movies have a little dash of scare π I've seen the village talked about and I think I'll check it out. I think he has a new movie that stars Dave Batista. I've heard people say that one is really good. You're right, he has very unique ideas, things you don't see anywhere else. The tragic family story was the main thing for me. I feel the alien invasion was a nice canvas for it. I had fun watching it. Thanks for the kind words. I like to think I make reactions that I would love to watch. So it makes me happy that it resonates with the viewers

2024-02-27 14:58:26 +0000 UTCWhen you were saying in the beginning that you hoped it wasn't scary or anything like that and all I could think of was "Wait, we ARE watching a Shymalan movie, yeah?" π I have loved Shymalan movies throughout the years ever since I saw his movie "The Village" in theaters, and even the later ones that were not as popular were still always interesting. He always had very unique ideas and stories to tell and the human aspect was always a very prominent part of his storytelling. This movie here has always been one of my favourite movies of his' just because it has all these elements that you also brought up. It has the tragic family story, it has aliens, some scary suspension parts, just really well rounded without going into the over the top alien movies you usually see. Don't get me wrong, I love me some good and proper alien movie, but I like that the family part was more highlighted in this one. You always have very insightful comments and are not afraid to show your emotions. I really enjoy your reactions and can't wait for the next one!
