The real Marilyn Lovell can be seen in the crowd during the launch scene (Pause exactly at 35:06 and she is the only woman without sunglasses standing in the row just below the one with the actress portraying her), and Jim Lovell is the naval captain that Tom Hanks shakes hands with at the end. A few other things, the loss of her ring in the bathtub happened and the 'tension' between Swigert, Jim, and Fred is total Hollywood. Swigert was more than qualified to fly the mission, he was not a new guy, in reality, and there was never any argument between the three. The basis for the argument scene came from when Ron Howard was interviewing Jim Lovell and when asked if there ever was an argument between them Lovell responded "Well I guess we could have bounced off the walls for ten minutes but we would have just ended up back where we started with the same problems". Howard took this answer and created a scene out of it that never actually happened.

Wall-e, interstellar, the Martian and this one. Probably arrival very soon. It's very fun. I've never heard of the first man but I'm going to look it up. This movie taught me so much about space travel in general so I'm guessing one about the first moon landing would be spectacular. Thank you thank you for the support. I love that you like Foxtaco's stuff as well. We just talked today. We have so many plans when he gets back. Collab reactions and all that

I love anything and everything to do with space and on this mission everything that could go wrong DID go wrong and they still made it. Incredible! If you love space movies, I really really recommend that you watch the movie "First Man" from 2018. I saw it in theatre when it came out and I remember being on the edge of my seat, even while knowing how the story ends. It's about the Apollo 11 flight and the first moon landing. Thank you again for a delightful reaction! You and FoxTaco are two of my favourite reactors out there 😊
