haha I feel you. Sometimes when the movie is so good I forget to even talk to the audience because I'm just in awe. You're welcome.

That is such a great point about Mr Keller. On how his faith and preparedness filled him at the moment he needed it most. And we see how that broke him. Being powerless Terence was alone indeed. That's why the scene where Viola confronted him about where he was. I knew he was going to talk. He couldn't hide it from her anymore. Her stance was very interesting after everything was said and done. She understood the necessity of Mr Keller doing what he had to do. At the same time, I feel she didn't want her husband to go into that dark place. And I love what you said about Mr Keller's wife. Thankfully I haven't seen anybody being harsh to her in my comment section. But like you said, I just know people will be so unfair to her. To nobody's surprise, it's probably the same people who were extremely unfair to Jenny in Forrest Gump. Is unfortunate that some people see what her character and Terence's character portray as a weakness, and it pisses me off every single time. Like you said I really believe that's how most of us will feel in that moment. Many will shut down This is one of those movies where I think everything was literally perfect. I'm glad you got a chance to see it

This movie was great for me because I could see myself in every one of the parent performances. All four parents of the girls had such a believable reaction to the horror of losing a child. A man of great faith in a higher power and also a man that will not only trust in God to protect his family but will prepare for every possible future emergency only for both his faith and his preparedness to fail as a result of a missing child. The beginning of the movie shows us how close these two families are. The hunting scene followed by a shared Thanksgiving meal of that very deer in addition to the conversation about the financial struggles the family was going though tells us these two familes depend on each other. Everyone gets together for thanksgiving but this particular one seems to have really depended on them shooting that deer. Terrance's character is obviously as motivated as Hugh to find their children. It appears that violence is a much harder decision for him to be a part of but I think that trust and faith in his close friend was what allowed him to participate in what he does. He didn't hear Alex say the "crying line" in the parking lot. He didn't see the dog being hung by his leash. He only had what Hugh told him. Even if Terrance has the ability to use violence, he also has to deal with doubt. Hugh didn't have any doubt. The audience even doesn't have any doubt at this point. Hugh has his man... he knows it. Not much can stop Hugh. He even has the audience rooting for him. Terrance was alone. Terrance needed backup. Who do you turn to when you need backup. Enter Viola's character. Terrance knew her. He knew she didn't have the violence in her either. So he tells her everything and she comes to where they are holding Alex. Well... Terrance was only half right. She is a good person. She will be his backup. She basically permits her husband to excuse himself from participating. But. She will not let him interfere in Hugh's plan to extract information from this person. She feels just as horrible as her husband about it but she also is a mother needing her child. She both supports her husband's need for escape and also with her daughter's need for a violent rescuer. I think Hugh's wife (mario bello) will face the harshest judgement from some of the audience and I think this will be incredibly unfair. She represents the parent who the loss of a child prevents them from even being a functional person. She just wants to stop the pain. She wants to sleep. I honestly believe a large portion of people might find themselves falling into this role. The utter helplessness of being able to protect your child. Your most important job. The thoughts of what your child is possibly going through. Knowing your child was thinking why hasn't my parents rescued me. I think many of us shut down entirely in that situation. I would never judge any one for it. The rest of the cast was also phenomenal. I can't believe I slept on this movie until now.
