"is this based on a true story" buddy we've not even had people near mars yet let alone land on it. this is definitely not based on a true story lmao. its based on a book, which is also absolutely incredible if you're into reading. it goes even harder into the problem solving science side (the whole iron man thing in the book was actually a joke and did not turn out to be the final solution, but the movie went with it for a little more pizzazz yknow)

2024-12-25 22:20:23 +0000 UTCAppreciate you for elaborating. In hindsight, I misread a lot of Teddy's intentions. I think I didn't give him the benefit of the doubt because he was a bit of an asshole, but yes he has an incredibly difficult job. I like he says he has to keep them flying and keep them funded. I know for sure I wouldn't want that job. And no need to apologize for a long-winded comment. We're here to watch movies and Converse

2024-02-05 01:56:54 +0000 UTCI'm really enjoying your movie reactions but this is the first one we've had any disagreement on. I agree with Ramona's comment above that you're being a little hard on Teddy the director. Yeah, he spoke very bluntly about things and was a bit of an asshole.... but he's got a lot of responsibility. I think you thought he was only concerned with the bad PR but I think it was more about being realistic and having the be concerned about everything. He ruled against sending the 5 astronauts back on the rescue mission and I would expect the exact same decision from any real NASA director. Risking those 5 astronauts on such a risky plan made for a better story and a better movie.... but even you were on the edge of your seat with what all could go wrong and with what all did go wrong. Not to take anything away from how they needed all their science skills during that rescue, but they also needed a lot of luck in the end. In my opinion, I think Teddy was trying to protect the entire agency and comes off as insensitive towards individuals. He cares about them, but can't care about only them. Sorry this was long winded. You are providing great content.

Just discovered your channel on YouTube and was immediately hooked by your calm voice 😁 The only thing: feels like you were a bit hard on the director of NASA. Imagine his position and the responsibility he has not towards just one man, but towards every woman and man on the ground and up there in space. From his position one can absolutely understand why he said some of the things and made some of the choices that he did. He's not meant to be liked, he's meant to make hard decisions based on facts, not his emotions. Just confused where all the hate came from for this poor dude 😅 Otherwise, I can really recommend to read the book that the movie was based on, or even listen to the audiobook, they did a great job with that one as well!

2024-01-21 13:22:11 +0000 UTCA cherry on top is definitely the right words.... there's sooooo many science fiction movies to name and I'm sure once I've sent this I'll think of many more.... the original Alien movies "Alien" and "Aliens" are classics, maybe abit dated by today's standards but still great movies....and sticking to the theme, the prequels to them "Prometheus" and "Covenant" are great films too.... Also, "Armagedon" is a great Bruce Willis film....and "the core"....just a few out of so many possibilities!!! Regarding Anime....have you seen "Blue eye samari"? If not it's a must see.... sorry for the long ass message, take care my guy

2024-01-11 16:12:23 +0000 UTCHey there my guy....loved your reaction and appreciation for this movie. I'm a huge fan of science fiction films (usually involving alien's and space battles) but this is one of my favourites....mainly because of the realness of it and that this could really happen in the not so distant future....and of course the characters and constant comedy....love it!!!! Take care and looking forward to the next one.
