So sorry to hear about your dad. I'm glad you have the margin to be there. I slept in my childhood bedroom a couple of days ago. Mom had part of her leg amputated. Nothing like what you're going through. Sending all the protective and encouraging love I can as you're in that space. Hey... I'm going to be spending time each week at my mom's throwing out every scrap of paper she's held onto from my childhood. That will be so cathartic. I imagine you will need to do something similar. When the time comes for you to be in that old familiar (head)space, may you also find yourself smiling at the demons that used to hang out in your bedroom and closets that just don't bother you anymore. At least not ad much. Be well, friend.
