Wow, Alec a fellow birder… how exciting!! Yes she is a parrotlet!! Her name is Molly and she’ll be 9 in October. I am afraid she is spoiled silly; when she has out of cage time, she behaves like a cat or dog in that she won’t let me out of her sight!! You are so right and beautifully stated, Alec, they do provide an oasis of calm, peace and unconditional love!! We can learn so much from our pets. They provide an oasis of calm for me. I have cats and dogs too, along with my 3 goldfish saved from a feeder tank. I was born loving animals of all kinds.
