Since this plot device is incredibly stupid, the author should have no problem inventing a solution like Harry inventing a ritual to exchange her sperm donor's life for her freedom. I've 0 respect and empathy for the fucker for (1) treating his children like chattel; and (2) getting in bed with terrorists.

2026-02-01 18:48:39 +0000 UTCThe whole thing with the contract still feels so stupidly contrived, it's clear Sabine never agreed to it, only her parents did on her behalf, yet breaking it somehow means SHE loses her magic, not her parents. It doesn't make much sense to me, it feels like a not-so cleverly disguised plot device that's just there to excuse the unnecessary melodrama. It only detracts from what is otherwise a great story.
