Riddle is evil incarnate and yes he has to die! The sooner the better! Killing the basilisk may or may not have been the smart move, getting it away from Riddle though is smart, just could have been useful if Harry had bonded with it as his familiar!

Harry has warned Dippet, Dumbledore and McGonnagall about Riddle. How will that effect how they deal with him? Can they treat him fairly knowing what little they know and in the end will that knowledge make him better or worse? Would just add that it would only take Minerva lending Charlus a certain map while Harry was in the castle for his cover to be blown What you have here is the man who travelled back in time to kill a monster when it was a child but due to his honour refuses to kill a child, waits for him to grow into a man only to dscover it is not the monster he was expecting. Does he then kill that man?
