I can agree that “escaping” Lumon as an innie is sort of a blessing, but it also means Not Existing. To the innies, this place & these relationships are mostly all they know. Even as f*cked up ad Lumon is. Of course now these Innies lives & knowledge of the world has totally opened up passed what the company originally allowed them to know. It’s a double edged sword. Also, the paintings that Milchick received from the board were literally just Black Faced Kier. “Black face” is one of the many ways Black people were humiliated here in the states during Jim Crow era racism & segregation. Milchick was reaching out to Natalie as someone who is also Black (tho appears more mixed or fair skinned) to try & and get an honest response as Black Person in this company/cult.
