This was a lot of fun, can't go wrong with Julien being himself, and I learned a lot more tips and tricks to using Clipstudio so a win win. :D

Was so stressed about this since I took the commission on shortly after my PC died and I had to rebuild but very happy that the client loves it! That makes me so happy and everything worth doing ;w;

It's done!

The PC has been built, all issues taken care of, I drew for the first time in over a month last night and missed my sweet, sweet King Julien. 🥰

Hoping to get back on schedule with drawing, a lot changed in the weeks I couldn't draw, mostly a daily schedule of workouts and cardio, along with getting out more, but damn it if I don't want to sit and draw!

This laptop I'm using isn't all that great and it take much longer to draw in general, it buffers a lot. 

Good news tho!
My BF only need a few more things to get delivered and we can start putting the new PC together, I'm so excited to show it to you guys! Hopefully we can get it up and running by mid March.

On to the comic tho!
Slowly but surely we're getting through all the penguins, up next is Rico!
Julien's about halfway through his prospective new boyfriends but from the way he's talking about it that night didn't end well lol

Page 6 is inked and ready for coloring, let's hope I can get through it at a decent pace!

PC troubles

Hey everyone, sorry for lack of updates and communications!

I'm currently experiencing some issues with my PC, currently on my very slow laptop, it took over an hour just to be able to post. ;w;

Boyfriend is coming over later today to help me, I'm not sure what's wrong but it did suddenly freeze, blue screen, and tell me it had run into a problem and needed to restart. I haven't touched it since out of fear.

I'm sure my BF can figure it out, I haven't had a chance to back up everything and I had a few pieces I was going to post too.

I know I shouldn't worry, this is the first time this has ever happened in years, I do my best to take care of my PC, it's so important to me. T^T

I'll be on my laptop if I need to be but it has nothing on it lol

I starting getting much more comfortable with CSP by this point and was able to find a much better solution for creating speech bubbles! Much easier than using the actual tool :D

Still looking for decent brush to create the texture I need for Julien's fading paw pads but for now it's decent.

I hope the flow of the conversation is easy to follow, I didn't want to color code them or put their initials anywhere, sort of like how old manga used too lol

I almost forgot to post this!

One of the sketches from a previous post I decided to slap some color on.
The concept of a young Julien excited to witness his first execution with his beloved Uncle is so fun to explore!

The show gives us so many juicy bits of Julien fondly remembering Uncle and in turn shows that Uncle does care about his nephew's feelings and makes sure he has a friend, it's all very sweet and twisted. 🤭

This is a test page --

Not officially the first page of the comic project or even how I might color the thing lol

I was mostly playing around with a style and method of comic drawing by another artist that has inspired me a ton lately.
Their style is so loose and easy, there isn't any pressure to create smooth, clean lineart and coloring is also very simple.

It eases so much of my anxiety and tension that comes with making comics, I've been putting so much pressure on myself to make things perfect, from lineart to backgrounds to coloring and shading I have been stressing myself out!

And it's affected my output and motivation something awful.
So this sort of easy, free style is a weight off my shoulders. 

There is still a lot to do, like adding more to backgrounds and effects but it's so much easier and faster.

But for now this was just an experiment, so no worries!
I intend to go back into this having learned a few more things, keep an eye out for that. :>

He's always been that way --

Some doodles of a young Uncle and how he acted with Julien around.

I went into a lot of depth in the server explaining everything but I pretty much explain Uncle's attachment to Julien as all he really has. His mother died when he was a preteen, his father was much older and died shortly after Julienne gave birth, after which she and her husband just up and abandon the kid, Uncle is fairly young, either early to mid 20's when he's crowned king.

His whole family is gone and he's left to raise a baby, literally all the family he has left and he'll be damned if he doesn't at least TRY for this kid.

I also headcanon the Uncle and Hector were interested in each other, it's more one sided on Hector's part tho. At this time Hector is royal adviser and  Uncle has minimal experience with true romance in any sense, they may have fooled around a time or two but Uncle never sees anything past that and as Julien gets older his attention is for his nephew only.

This results in Hector becoming bitter with time and eventually quitting his job, there never is any resolve for him but he still misses what he used to have when they were younger.

I did a redraw --

Been incredibly art-blocked lately and finally figured I would try and do a redraw to help with that, but I can tell you that at first it was so incredibly hard.

I've been wanting to redraw this image for years but every time I tried it just never worked out, I almost gave up on this because the whole mindset was 'Trust the process, this looks like shit'. 😰

I guess it all worked out in the end, I know I'm probably putting a ton of pressure on myself with everything going on around me, I honestly don't know what to do.

Another commission for Maxx! This one was a doozy and I threw myself into it like nuts but it came out so good!

Went back and forth between CSP and SAI really just trying to get comfortable with coloring and shading.

Thank you again Maxx for the commission, these two were fun to work on, I know I went a little nuts at certain stages but it all came together in the end. 💖

I had the idea for a thumbnail like this since I can't name the ship due to Patreon's rules but I had so much fun working on it that I'm not complaining!

Spending much more time figuring out ClipStudio, messing with brushes and sort of relearning to ink with a calmer mind, trying not to ask too much of myself. I don't know why I decided to freehand paint the background 😅

Just ended up giving myself more work, always super stressed about these two, I love them but know not as many people do. People always want more Kowalski, he's gunna shine in the comic I promise!

No idea what's going on with me but motivation is non-existent and I've had a few too many depressive episodes, me no likey.

There's so much I want to talk about when it comes to the ideas behind some of these, I want to focus more on getting a cohesive short out about how Uncle ended up in New York and how his relationship with Zora diminished. 

And pretty much just the hell I'm in over my ship.

April was quite the month!

Please forgive me for the lack of activity recently! 🙏🏼

I've spent the last month or so focusing solely on my health, I was disappointed in myself all across the board and realized I need to make a change. 

With the help of my boyfriend's support we created a workout schedule, changed my diet, spent much more time working on my self esteem, vitamins, protein powders, everything!

My goal for everything month is to lose 5 pounds and gain/tone muscle. 

I meet my goal for April!
Unfortunately it does take a lot of time and focus.
I workout everyday and also help my mom whenever she needs me. Lately she has been in pain and is waiting to visit her doctor, she thinks it might be shingles. We hope it isn't anything more serious. ;A;

I've done my best to draw when I can putting a lot of my time into the NOW NAMED comic; Fit For A King.  We're very close to the end actually, I'm hoping for 25 pages but we'll see how the story works out.

I want to thank you all for your continued support and friendship! It means the world, the universe to me! I- honestly I was afraid to speak up because I was so overwhelmed with anxiety and fear over my absence but I don't think you all would be so cruel, you're all so sweet and kind.

I'm still working on my PTSD, it's reared it's ugly head lately, I'm so happy I'm surrounded by such wonderful people in my life. 😘💖

Pretty much the only thing I've managed to draw recently. Sorry about that. 😓

It's been a rough- all the times man, but we're pulling through.
If you're active on my discord server than you know but everything is a ton better now, other than another freeze down here everything is good.

I have to scan some doodles I did, which is a bother because my scanner is huge and bulky, I have to pull it out to use it XD

Happy Christmas 2021 --

I didn't have a chance to work on Christmas themed things until after the holiday passed lol

I'm still trying to figure out ClipStudio Paint, I have no idea how any of my fellow artists make such amazing works with it! I like sketching in it and I'm slowly getting used to using a certain brush for inking but I'm still learning.

Hopefully someday I can be as comfortable with it as I am with SAI.

Also had no idea the first outfit was a meme? XD
I saw it and just wanted to draw Julien in it, looks like he found a naughty boy on Christmas eve, don't worry tho he can handle the job at hand. ;9

The second outfit is also really cute!
Hopefully whoever played Santa that year has room for a little more sweetness before the night is done. >;3c

HS Julien sketches --

I completely forgot I had drawn these lol

Just some sketch ideas of Julien in HS, lemur school?
Why did it take me so long to try and draw emo!Julien? XD

One idea I had was that Rob, obviously already using Julien to get into clubs and have status, also tries to get the prince interested in him sexually. He plays it the way most of these young dudes do, separates Julien from his friends, keeps him close, influences him, but plans change when he finds out Julien is no stranger to sex.

Who got to him first? Does it matter? 

If Rob can make him the next king AND impregnate him, then he'd be sitting pretty doing whatever he likes with no real responsibility. 

He just needs to get Uncle King Julien out of the way.

And thus he jumps out of a cake XD
not sure if I'll expand on it but its fun. :>
