Remember the French woman Sayid met has been living alone for 16 years. When she was speaking tenderly to Sayid it was because she was desperate for human contact. Sayid’s backstory was both tragic and tender wasn’t it. One thing you’ll notice as the series continues is it’s pace can be a bit slow. As the saying goes, all good things come to those that wait.
