v6c15: Not Every Departure is Heaven's Shaking

The second day of having the Elders here came and went. There had been a bit of apprehension about how the Elders were going to react but it proved to be unnecessary… though I guess that did make sense. People said back in the Before that top CEOs and other powerful people were surprisingly easy to talk to, and that proved true here too. They weren’t just powerful people, they were also the leaders of massive organizations that could topple nations if they put their minds to it.

Even Lady Minyan, fully exposed to our home, was only a bit cold and standoffish. She didn’t arrogantly look down her nose at her lessers and glare whenever people spoke to her. She was surprisingly gentle, and had even humoured Shaggy Two—though really, who could be mad at that little man? He was always so cute and eager to help.

After dinner, she went with Gramps to his house.. Which again, wasn’t really my business, while the Cloudy Sword Sect once more returned to the guest house.

And so day three dawned.

Again, things were without issue. The Elders commented on the fascinating properties of Big D’s morning song, but otherwise they were just quiet while we finished our morning work. While two days of nerding out with Shou had been fun, today he was with Meimei and Ri Zu, teaching them how to fix Noodle’s spine. So I got to spend some time with Zhuye, and together we had a nice, quiet morning sitting and relaxing—or rather, Zhuye taking socks out of a drawer and dropping them beside us, while I put them back in.

Elder Yukong was talking with Tigu, Yin, and Chunky, who were describing to her what it felt like to turn into a human. There was a remarkable lack of cussing from the rabbit today. She seemed pretty intrigued by the floating symbols around Yukong and was clearly getting some kind of lecture as Yukong worked.

Big D was with the Torrent Rider, Babe, Shaggy Two, and Elder Ge. The Elder of the Cloudy Sword Sect was giving pointers to the kid, who looked starstruck that “such a cool old master” who had told him stories last night was giving him some tips about cultivation.

Gou and Yun were somewhere along with Xianghua, Bowu, and Spooks—they said they were going foraging.

It was nice to just sit back and watch for a little… at least until I noticed somebody approaching my seat.

“Rou Jin,” Lady Minyan said, her voice cold and regal as always. Gramps came with her, and held his arms out for Zhuye. I was curious about what she wanted, and it seemed that there was something a bit serious going on, so I handed my son over and turned to face the Divine Falcon.

Still, Gramps didn’t seem worried, and winked at me as he left, so it couldn’t be anything too bad.

“Yes, Lady Minyan?” I asked, sitting up straighter as Gramps retreated.

“We have some things to discuss,” she stated, sitting down on the couch opposite me.

“Such as…?” I asked, a little confused.

“We must discuss the terms of recompense and provision for a ship under the command of an Admiral of Soaring Heaven’s Isle.”

I paused. Was this like the Cloudy Sword Sect, with their own rules for things that needed to be done, like delivering mail?

“Soaring Heaven’s Isle is doing battle with Demonic Forces. Would that not be enough recompense for any provisions we provide?” I ventured.

I saw one delicate eyebrow raise.

“It is not solely for the provisions. You’ve quite some interesting techniques, Rou Jin,” she said leadingly, and thanks to my lessons with the Lord Magistrate I realised what exactly she was getting at.

I had been kind of free with speaking in front of her. None of the Cloudy Sword Sect seemed to really think it was a big deal, and I didn’t care for holding back. She could have the knowledge if she really wanted—she was here helping us with her flying ship. But apparently she wanted to repay me for the knowledge. Which again… nicer than I was expecting.

“Oh! Yeah, they’re pretty neat. Did you want a write up too?” I asked, purposefully playing at being obtuse.

Maybe it was a little dumb to try and joke with her, but it kind of slipped out.

I saw her other eyebrow skyrocket to join its sibling before she saw my little smirk, and her eyes narrowed.

I felt the pressure of her Qi press upon my shoulders, heavy and cold. It was like the whole sky was pressing down on me—but no matter how hard it pushed, the land beneath would always be there.

She noticed my lack of reaction, and just as soon as the cold came, it went, the mild rebuke sliding off my shoulders.

“Hmph. You truly are his grandson, to dare try and toy with me,” she sniffed, though there was a kind of grudging respect in her tone. She wasn’t really mad.

“Sorry, sorry. I thought it was kind of funny,” I said. “To me, that knowledge and those techniques were a small price to pay for your presence. But if you feel the scales are imbalanced, then we can of course discuss how we can help each other.”

Minyan seemed amused at my words. From there, we started haggling. Though haggling was less the word, and more… coming to a mutually beneficial agreement. Neither of us cared about money. Instead, a contract of what was essentially bartered goods was drawn up that looked suspiciously like a military procurement form.

I guessed it was a quirk of the sect.

“Full grown Silver Yin Lotus. Spiritual Herb Growing Techniques. Provisions for the Windward Blade. Provisions and lodging for Disciples On Patrol. In return: Spiritual Herb seeds and clippings. Mortal fruits, trees, and vegetables. A selection of alcohols, glasswork, pottery, weaving, wood-block prints, board games, ores, farming equipment, mining equipment, sculpting tools, smithing tools, pill furnaces, herb handbooks and medical texts from around the Empire. Permission for the contractor and peoples of his choice to board the Windward Blade for a tour.”

Minyan seemed amused at the contract. “Few are afforded the honour of boarding our ships. You certainly extracted a high price, Rou Jin.”

I chuckled at her tone. As the Lord Magistrate said, refusing to meet somebody halfway meant you didn’t value what was being offered to you. Minyan had wanted to pay me back… so I asked for things that I considered worth it. Judging by Minyan’s reaction, the deal was more than acceptable. Though I think she was thinking in greater amounts than I was. I wouldn’t be surprised if that selection of seemingly random stuff turned out to be rather large—but the hobbies my family had were pretty wide and varied.

“Your ships are amazing. I’ve always wanted to ride in a flying boat,” I replied.

Minyan inclined her head.

“A pleasure doing business, young man,” she declared, and then rose to her feet. I rose with her, and bowed. She didn’t execute a full bow, but instead inclined her head. A copy of the contract was placed before me.

“May you continue to fly true, Rou Jin.”

=========================================

Thankfully, that was the most stressful part of the day. The rest of it was a normal lazy winter afternoon. We played some hockey, made sure there wasn’t any poison we had missed, and generally just hung out while the Elders either watched or asked questions.

Yun Ren especially got more attention again when he revealed to the Elders he actually had pictures from inside the recorded demonic base—which apparently revealed some things that the Elders had missed from the main, ruined thing, especially some faint seals in the… experimentation ward that had collapsed.

“… how small can these be made?” Elder Yukong eventually asked, her eyes fixed on the recording crystal.

“Dunno. You would have to ask Biyu from Mengde’s Crystal Emporium,” Yun Ren instantly replied.

“Mengde’s Crystal Emporium, hm?” Elder Yukong mused.

And then it was once more time for dinner.

“What do you think, Shou?” Elder Ge asked, as the meal wound down. “How goes your instruction?”

“She's smart. Both of them are smart. She needs one more half-day, and then references will suffice,” Shou declared. Meimei and Rizzo both sat taller at the praise.

Excellent.” “Then, after you are confident, we shall return to our Disciples on the fifth day,” Elder Ge pronounced, “and send our disciples to resupply.”

I blinked at the announcement. They hadn’t been here that long. Ge saw my confusion, and gave me a smile. “Duty calls us; this has been most engaging, but there is still much for us to do.”

Shou looked like he was about to pout, but instead he just nodded firmly. “Yes. Our presence is required.”

“Thank you for your hospitality. It has been wonderful,” Elder Yukong said.

“I shall depart at that time as well,” Lady Minyan said. “I have… things to report to my Sect.”

“I’ll prepare some care packages then,” I replied. “Some food and drinks for the road.”

That got several thanks.

“We shall need a few more of those packages, Grandson, and one rather large one,” Gramps said. “We will not leave immediately, but Spooks has been kept from his Master for too long—I need to pay my respects and see what he decides about meeting Brother Ge, along with perhaps an envoy. Bi De, Ri Zu, and Yun Ren may join me.”

That caught their attention, and all three of them sat up straighter.

“It will be good to see Master Forest Sweeper again,” Bi De said.

It was a little surprising how fast things were going. For some reason I had expected them to be here for a while. Instead, they would be here for less than a week.

==========================

And indeed, they kept to their words. Shou finished teaching Meimei and Rizzo what to do as he said he would. I played a couple of games of Go with Ge and got my ass handed to me—he seemed to find it simultaneously hilarious and baffling that I was this bad at the game.

Yukong kept asking those who could to show her their transformation, and seemed to grow increasingly confused about it.

Gramps and Minyan… well, they were normally together, but as the time came for her to leave, there was definitely some invisible tension.

And then the fifth day dawned.

“Thank you for your instruction, Master Shou,” Meimei said, clasping her fist and bowing. Rizzo and Noodle—as the prospective patient—bowed with her. The man just smiled.

“It is your own capability. It's always nice to have such dedicated and intelligent students,” he said.

“And to have such fine conditions to study in,” Yukong agreed.

“The Cloudy Sword Sect thanks you for your hospitality,” Elder Ge finished, and all three of them raised their hands and clasped their fists.

“Soaring Heaven’s Isle Sect thanks you for your hospitality,” Minyan stated.

“Please be welcome at any time,” I replied. Behind me, everyone else clasped their hands over their fists and executed a bow… save for Gramps, who just nodded, waving them goodbye.

With that, the Elders rose into the air on their flying swords, except for Minyan, who simply floated away, and began their journey north.

We watched them go.

Honestly, it was rather anticlimactic. I was expecting some grand revelations or something, not a bunch of interesting, fairly chill old people.

But I guess that's just how things rolled some times.

I turned back to everyone.

“Who wants to go tobogganing?” I asked. A cheer went up, led by a beaming Peppa.

=======================

=======================

Originally this chapter was going to look over differnt subject matter, but then I realised the chapter didn't entirely fit at the moment.

Instead... the Elders have their jobs to get back to. A short visit, some revalations were had... but now they have to go back to work.

For now, it was just a breif meeting, but the seeds are laid for future developments.

Jin would made the whole farm pause with that statement. The next moment he would be subdued, and exorcised for possession.

Aune

I thought for sure he was good tell Minyan, "In another life, maybe I'd being calling you mother" like the AU, lol

taukid

The Heavenly Master of the Dao of Destruction makes his debut chapter in the coming future! Praise Master worm, whom even union of Man & Earth bows' it's head

Aune

Next chapter today?

Timothy Dana

I don’t think that’s a thing that can be fixed. Peppa’s inability to taste things is kind of like Minyan’s cold — it’s just a part of who they are at this point.

Alex

I'd say that Tigu and Yin are the most in-line with usual cultivation practices, having used external triggers to achieve their goal - one used a reagent, the other passed a heavenly tribulation. Washy is, as far as I recall, pretty in line with expectations. He takes on the appearance of a carp solely cause it's more convenient most times. If anything, Chunky is probably the strangest, at least as far as magic-meth huffing cultivators are concerned. His state of mind and soul must feel very strange to them. At the end of the day, all that matters is that these are essentially pokemon evolutions.

Marian Ch

I was never really clear on the nature of Miantiao's injury i.e. how and how much it is debilitating for snek.

ekwood

How do you picture Rags meeting Minyan going? How many seconds would he last before he hits on her and she straight up murders him?

Bryan Jackson

Very nice chapter, but there was no interaction between minyan and zhuye. I need to know If the little baby can break the ice Queens facade. I imagine something like the Brooklyn 99 Dog meme.

Spade ♠️ Dragon

Chill old people! Love it.

Angela Roberts

Loved the chapter!

Zero Wrath

Search for "legendary root" on the Casual's Farm discord.

Randall Brynsvold

It *is* nice to see Jin with *his* people, after so many of the others have hung around with theirs. :)

Geoffrey Sullivan

She's in route to the farm already due to Pale Moon Lake City's crystals all shattering twice in a short time. Was hoping they'd show up just as the elders were leaving.

Serpentssnare

Chunky's had the most complex method and I'd bet his explanation would be the hardest to understand. "Trotted to ends of world, climbed unclimbable mountain, reached the edge of nirvana, asked heaven for a boon, was judged okay for it, then trotted back." Yukong's reaction would be priceless.

Serpentssnare

My suspicion is Shen Yu will bring it up to both explain the oath mentioned during the meeting and Minyan's inital reaction, as well as a warning for Zhuye and what may happen with him and any future children. He would definitely want to get that warning given before the Zhuye could be possibly old enough to hear and understand.

Sleepyfoo

Wait!!...."...lodging for DISCIPLES ON PATROL... "? The Tsunami Idiots are coming!!

Raraki Kraken

Thank you, @forest tate! You're right, it's probably a reference to Meimei's demonic relative.

Ligeia

Shou just went over the procedure with Mei and Rizu in minute detail so they know what to do when they do it. I suspect that, like with Bowu's knee, they'll have a couple of practice surgeries on other creatures -- probably fish, like was mentioned? because you can eat them if it fails -- before they do the actual surgery on Miantiao.

Ligeia

Especially the entirely accurate description of Jin and Shou "nerding out." That was something I'd really been waiting for, and it didn't disappoint!

Ligeia

After the text made it more clear she thought she owed Jin, not vice versa, I was thinking maybe it was the demonic siphoning formation or how to cultivate silver yin lotuses, but yeah, helping restore Gramps to a functional human (like) state is probably what she’s actually rewarding. Thanks y’all.

Cranky Otter

I love how much Peppa enjoys sledding & surfing.

Cranky Otter

I can't wait for Zhuye to start getting chapters of his own. He's going to be driving everyone crazy lol

For a second I wondered who were the web designer disciples but then realized I’m not at work

justarando

“I played a couple of games of Go with Ge and got my ass handed to me—he seemed to find it simultaneously hilarious and baffling that I was this bad at the game.” wouldn’t it be even funnier if Jin is also a prodigy at tic-tac-toe where he always win unless Jin forces as draw Leaving Ge flabbergasted and Shen Yu chortling

Awesome. Dumdums incoming.

Insertnamehereokokipressedokok

I think Yukon was more confused by the myriad ways the people achieved human form she wasn't familiar with. Like Chunkey just asking heaven, the moon rabbits making a necklace, and Ri zu recreating the human body and maybe it's bloodline.

Grappleshot

I am glad Noodle is getting the help he needs for his back. But one thing I wonder is, when Peppa will get help with her cultivation so she can taste food again? It doesn't seem like she has any idea how to do it herself.

uavgas

Hasn’t started yet. Guan Chyou is almost ready, they’ve got a boat, a crew, and a mostly to date map. Depending on how things go this book, they might leave before the end, but it’s a hyped up storyline that we’re likely going to see it for how long it’s been in the works.

WonderBread459

The expedition is still in the exploration and planning stage. She and her brother visited the farm just a couple months ago (narrative time. It was forever ago in the series).

Bryan Jackson

My sympathies for your broken key, but this was surprisingly a interesting comment to read. 😅😂

Alibhai

My key bet een e and q is broken.... Ok, that being said I really enjoyed this story arc but I am happy the story is moving on. There as a lot of ground covered in the 'visiting elders arc'. Finally got to see an apology made in person and in front of an elder from a different sect. Seeing ho they all interacted ith Fa Ram as everything I imagined. This is one of the best stories I have ever read, thank you. A fe things I'm looking for ard to, seeing the results of being blacklisted by the Azure Jade Trading company and ho far the ne alliance in Azure Hills ill go.

Duncan Morin

Huh those lines about trade from around the empire made me remember that one woman who Jin sent on an expedition to bring back cocoa??! Wonder what happened to her

AlecL

I betting for an old monster like her bloodline awakenings is more common. If they explained how it happend it(like the specific circumstances) she might be interested, but idk if they did.

mag28

I don't really use discord much, how do I get link for it?

mag28

It will absolutely be Seiyu and Bailu At the least

Bryan Jackson

I didn't know I needed this until now

forest tate

Let’s be honest, part of that trade was Minyan showing her gratitude to Jin for all he has (intentionally or not) done to help Gramps turn his life around out. ❤️

Michael Larsen

“You really are his grandson,” might be the single greatest compliment she could possible deliver. ❤️❤️❤️ 😂😂😂

Michael Larsen

Well, Biyu is in for another dose of Interesting Times. Still, she's going to end up better off for it so I can't wait to see how it all turns out when the Elders visit her.

Just A Dude

Sledding is a great way to end the day.

WarStrider72

I thought the CSS disciples and SHI disciples would also come to Fa Ram as well? Guess there's always next time.

WarStrider72

Oooh. I need to check and see if my theory is right! To the discord! *Looks at discord* ... Darn, I was way off.

Some guy

All in all, a most *refreshing* vacation for the Elders, I should think - and *certainly* for *us.* Thank you! :)

Geoffrey Sullivan

That's my impression as well.

Geoffrey Sullivan

You can find one on the discord, months ago cf spoiled something...

Silberkinn

My guess is demon in charge or demonic imperial cultivaror.

forest tate

Owl

forest tate

I think that waits until the disciples come for a rest. Storm wings or other SHI folks might recognize her

forest tate

No. I think they just refined the procedure but haven’t actually performed it yet

Catherine

Thanks for the chapter!

Gopard

Thanks for the chapter 😊

Kt-x

So is miantiao's spine fixed?

Spacefather

Word of Farmer is that aside from her voluptuousness, Xiulan gets her looks from her dad. Also Minyan recognizing Xiulan is like asking Jeff Bezos to recognize the relative of a warehouse manager, a relative with very little resemblance to said manager.

Aki_Iokua18

The big trip Jin commissioned with the Azure Trade Company. Who from Fa Ram will accompany it? Washi? And? It also seems time to check in with the Magistrate’s son.

Kreylix

I don't think Xiulan looks like her mother.

Random Information

If Yukong transformed into a Spirit Beast, what animal would she be?

BargleNawdleZouss

Indeed it is!

BargleNawdleZouss

Still no resolution on the mystery root :(

Deathlokke

definitely the former. If she thought he owed her, she probably wouldn't be negotiating a trade that has her trading away more high value goods and services, like the right of boarding/passage on a skyship. She mentioned the techniques jin had been sharing.

Hakurei06

The ships need to wander and explore while Jim is tied to the farm so they wouldn't be a good match in this timeline, but most of the people from the farm would work. Yun Ren in particular would be a great match being able to fly around the world taking pictures of the sights.

Ozzy

Given the rising level of Qi and cultivation levels in the provence the crystals aren't going to be of much use for very long anyway.

Ozzy

I must ask, is your name a Weird Al reference?

Ken Horne

Wonder if their transforming techniques completely goes against all established theories on "Spirit Beast -> Human Body" transformation. We got Bi De, Rizu and Pipa(?) who did it with cultivation and willpower, Tigu and Yin who unlocked the ability with an evolution stone/cultivating reagents (+sunrock/+lightning), Chunky who practically ascended and then descended back down for his wife, and Washy who definitely goes against all the stories of Carp dragons by shrinking back into a carp, and partially transforming whenever he needs opposable thumbs. 🤔

Lanter

So Yukong was studying the transformation to human by the animals. Did she also watch the change of human to sort of animal of yun and gou? I know they don’t fully change and just get the ears and tails but surely it’s an interesting point of study too.

Catherine

Enjoyed the chill chapter. Had no idea if Minyan thought she/her sect owed Jin or vice versa though. Was it the warning of demons that she felt she needed to compensate or something else?

Cranky Otter

I just can't help imagining Biyu saying a few things, and giving up a "Mortal-Made" recording crystal as small as she can make it, and some Cultivator crystal carver looking at it for a few minutes, and coming back with what is essentially a bag full of sand you throw at your opponent that gets everywhere and records everything around them. Find out your opponent's hidden Grotto and secret training methods, now with new Pocket Spy Sand.

The GrandMage

To me this seems like an interlude....I highly doubt that unc and deamon going to another contenent will be a long term threat and most likely events will spiral out of control as time goes on

acg

Nooo… you can’t leave yet gramps!! Loud boy, rags, and Biyu are on the way and the girl needs to see her man’s new tail and ears.

Synova Vitale

While I agree that we are coming to the end of this ark, at least in 5 or so more chapters, you all forget that this is not your usual Xinxia, where every enemy has to be a big bad evil overlord that tries to kill the MC. I could totally see this next arc being that other cultivators take an interest in the Azure hills, after their Qi is being restored, and Jin having to act as a protector figure for the alliance. There is still a need for the time skip though. And we will probably get many scenes of the little one growing up

Tsorov

Don't agree Alex. Jin can definitely grow sky ship in this U. He just needs to be present (given Shennong).

G

But you're forgetting he has shenog hacks for knowing how to grow plants so maybe he himself can't grow them but he would know how to

fruit dragon

Agreed, @Angel! I love Miantiao -- he's had such a hard life in so many respects, and he's finally found another Home where he can be happy for the first time in too many years. Fixing his spine and giving him full mobility again should definitely bring on the happy tears! Such a sweet snake...

Ligeia

ha yes the The return of bakasama

fruit dragon

DIC? Sorry, your acronym stumped me.

Ligeia

I kept waiting for Minyan to remark on how familiar Cai Xiulan looked.

Ope 'scuse me

We've still got several short-term things to do: Azure Alliance stuff; Emperor meeting the crystal spirit; Rags and Loud Boy showing up with Biyu; Zhuye shenanigans, etc.

Alex Ingraham

Thanks!

Trevor Mergen

Poor, poor Biyu. Yun, how could you do that to her? And Yukong is so definitely developing an animal form.

BelligerentGnu

Bad juju

Timothy Dana

Only nameless antagonists are dead, Uncle and DIC are still around, the former getting new allies.

Stuffed Duck

Thanks for the chapter boss!

Katharine Gould

I was kind of thinking the same. The heavenly Demon is on another continent now and will likely be a "lurking in the shadows" kind of threat for a few hundred years. Given the pace of the story, that means he is effectively a non threat. Which means we need a new threat from another source, possibly demons, more likely asshole cultivators or immortals. The only thing I'm confident in is that I feel a time skip coming. It would solve a lot of the issues we're seeing by skipping a few years into the future, when we're seeing the growth and fallout of all these world changing revelations.

Robert Adams

Thanks for the chapter

Stark Trist

Love the direction this is going. It's very hard to have standout character moments with the elders when all of them are at Faram. Having them dip in and out is probably for the best. A bit disappointed none of the elders joined in the hockey, but it's not entirely unexpected. Also wouldn't really be a challenge for them and might terrify the whole Provence should any of them get serious.

Stark Trist

It feels like this book is the epilogue to the series. All the known enemies are subdued or scattered (besides maybe some remnants within the Empire?). So Tianlan needs to get fully healed and maybe reach out to other Earth Spirits to repair the Wastes… what else is left?

Palmer Evans

*Provisions... wonder what grade rice they'll end up getting? Gold? Jade? Something that would usually beggar a sect for knowledge freely given? Would be funny af.

jord

Yun is helping invent spy cameras? Every Elder in the universe: "Now, take plenty of pictures when you go out!"

Often Irrelephant

Tianlan is a jealous partner and wouldn't be OK with Jin aligning himself with a God Beast. And Meiling might have something to say about the process, too. (And the procedure Rao used in the SHI Alt chapters involved three "normal" seeds; the seeds had to feel right, but the rest of it was the compatible Qi and the procedures from the scroll.)

Randall Brynsvold

Bet it will be the terrible twosome from the offshoot Shi Jin AU.

Valerian

My headcanon is that it will come out when Shen Yu considers whether to make a commitment to move in with Minyan, and what that would entail, and whether he could be persuaded to be OK with children in his future, if she wanted them, now that he has a widely recognized success on his second attempt to raise an heir (Jin) and a good start on a third (Bi De).

Randall Brynsvold

Title has an extra possessive apostrophe... well, technically it could be correct as written but then it'd mean "... the shaking (caused by) the Heavens", which is usually not what the phrase is used to mean :p T4TC!

linkhyrule5

So freaking excited for the fun chapter when Jin gets a massive delivery of stuff from the fairies!!! Sounds like it’s going to really change things around the farm, and Meimei will be over the moon at her new medical scrolls! I love how Jin always thinks of her needs and passions when he makes any kind of plans, it’s so freaking wholesome. And is anyone else excited for the chapter where Noodle gets his spine fixed?? I’ve been catching myself driving, cooking, etc. and fantasizing about his reaction to waking up healed, with full spinal mobility. I mean come on, that’s heartwarming in the best sense of the word and I can’t wait!

Angel

> Provisions and lodging for Disciples On Patrol. Oh, I’m now curious who’s coming on the first patrol

Lalzparty

I second this! ✌🏻👏🏻

Angel

That’s exactly what I was thinking, and was wondering if anyone would warn them to rein it in. 😂

Angel

Loved this one.

Trish Brown

I doubt it. If Lu Ri could figure out the purpose of the heavenly ascension stone talismans that the guards wear then Yukong definitely can — Lu Ri might forewarn them about reeling in their Qi too. Minyan blew up the stones by accident because she was coincidentally flying over Pale Moon Lake City when she let off a massive blast of Qi to make her ship fly faster.

Alex

I don’t think it’s possible for this version of Jin to grow a living ship. Jin was on a whole different path in the alternate universe, and the dumdums were heavily involved in Ningjing’s creation too — there was something about the ship’s creation requiring the union between the arts of the wandering deer and soaring bird.

Alex

Those cultivator detection crystals are going to outright detonate when Yukong drops by the Crystal Emporium.

Alex Rahr

Thanks for the chapter 😊 as always I truly enjoy your writing!

Simone Newsome

Maybe not a short visit for mortals but not overly long

Davan Krueger

That was a short visit for mortals I'd call that a hurried for these ancient Masters

Davan Krueger

Consider having him study how to grow their ships…….. good chapter

MARK MACKNET

Flying ships are indeed awesome. Always a nice bit of stress relief when guests leave. And I get how Shen Yu telling Jin about Bu doesn’t fit. For one thing, Shen Yu doesn’t strike me as one to just talk about that without external prompting, and no one seemed ready to push him like that. Also Jin seems the type to just let sleeping dogs lie if the other person didn’t seem comfortable talking about something, so it’s hard to imagine how the conversation would start.

Aki_Iokua18

Saw the line in the last chapter about how this one was meant to be kinda heavy and was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I guess that part’s still coming after the reworking.

Wonderful end to The Visit
