Things seem VERY pleasing looking at Vanessa in this render remaster of chapter 25, huh?
Unfortunately I had a stormy week with even more crashes on smallish scenes, not a render issue but a dumb openGL viewport crash, even after multiple tries to correct the issue. Yesterday I went mad and decided to exchange cards as a last resort: we're counting almost 40 days with the problem, this would trouble me in a release schedule, and damn, it was this or trying to reinstall the whole rig and waste a week restoring preferences and testing. Also I didn't make a proper render of Giselle on her new outfits yet because of that.
Anyway, I was re-reading material and found the chapter 25 with A LOT of text issues (plot, stuff not needed, etc), then the scene with Vanessa and Natalie bothered me so I went for trying a "remasterization workflow" for looking into the chapter and test the rig.
Beyond the content crashes that usually happens when opening old content, I was able to exchange models copying the poses and etc, merged the actual house there, moved and played with the camera like crazy, all seems stable now, I guess...
I'm uploading the "remastered" and the original panels of what could become a remastered chapter 25 one day: IMO we improved DRASTICALLY!
The Remaster thing is not a new idea, it might work for chapters that don't need a REMAKE, so I would use original chapter's files, fix stuff here and there, and enjoy the ultimate quality on chapters that didn't age well while using the minimum possible time. GD 1 and DV 27 are examples of chapters I'd like to do that...
ANYWAY, the idea is for later, I'm using it RN just because I'm testing the rig, I've got a little tired of losing edits on new material, so, I preferred to test on old stuff I won't bother losing. I'll be considering the test successful.
See ya.
