Model Releases

Let's talk about Model Release*.
As we know, photographers and models don't always sign Model Releases.
Signing a legal agreement is, of course, the right thing to do, but it doesn't always work. Practice shows that such formality often scares off the model even before the shoot. Moreover, even after signing the release, no one guarantees the photographer a peaceful life. In case of a conflict, it's not a lawyer who will threaten the photographer. More likely, it will be the model's newfound boyfriend, who will quickly convince the photographer of his righteousness. Is that what you want? )
So what else is Model Release needed for?
Even reputable magazines only require simple confirmation of the model's adulthood. Selling to a private gallery? No, not necessary. For public advertising? For online services and stores? Maybe - yes.
But in the era of artificial intelligence and generative flooding, I don't think any photographers are in demand anymore.
Let's sum it up.
Model Release is a necessary thing, but don't go to extremes.
If you're very rich and very popular (preferably beyond your city), keep this document as a precedent for possible scandals playing into your hands.
If you're a nobody, and your name is nothing, just sigh and hope for the best.
