Lapis 3 WIP

Please be sure to check out Discord. Lapis 3 is in the works! Took me long enough, I know :/ I wanted to get the right feel and mood of doing the third and final installment and I felt that if I continually worked on it from the last part, it’d be half-hearted and “empty”. Plus I was in the mindset at the time of “I have no idea how to top this”. Now that time has passed and ideas were able to marinate, this is what I have! There was A LOT of inspiration from many different sources.

The first one was Shadman and how he doesn’t hold back on the content he creates to go further as well as the amount of detail put into it, Cicada and Sparrow for their hyper-designs and creativity of the situations, Asanagi on how expressive the body language is as well as how unrelenting the subjects are treated, and oddly enough Tarzan the movie for how the animation and body has so much fluidity in every shot and scene. I realized it was a lot of clutter in this WIP so I tried to really up the size and i recommend you see this in full view. I decided to put some simple base colors to see whats happening easier. Tried to take advantage of the “actual pixel size” as well to wrap my head around how much I can put into a piece without having to sacrifice memory load.

Also just one last note that I should mention when making this is the unfortunate loss of progress which really punched me in the gut (no pun intended). TLDR; was really far into this, went to kitchen to cook, windows 10 decided to update and I was an idiot for not saving. Absolutely disheartened but I think it kind of turned out for the better because there was a lot of redesigns and changes to the outcomes and ideas for it. Not going to sugar coat it, really scared honestly to tackle this again just by the sheer amount of time it’ll take, but I’ll definitely do it! As usual, hope you guys like and sorry for making you all waiting this long for the finale. Hope the length of it and the amount put into it makes up ^^
