Embarrassed to say that this was a nightmare to do. Not in the sense that it wasnt fun to do, but I mean learning how to do variations again was a nightmare. It felt like playing Sudoku because every time a peen was added, itd fuck with my lighting layers, blending layers, background, face, etc. and felt like a complete idiot on where to place the layers. Mostly frustrating on the fact that there was probably an easier solution right in front of my face and I couldnt see it x) but GLAD AS FUCK that I finished it! Even saving the picture for each variation was just annoying because I kept forgetting to turn on a layer for it from the forest of layers I already had so apologies in advance to anyone looking through the layers and witnessing the garbo organization D:
If that wasnt hard enough, coloring dark skin with different tones was just as frustrating. I thought I had the hang of rendering dark skin when I learned about some more color theory but then when I wanted skin that had just a tinge of a darker tone, the highlights would be all muddy and neutral. I tried applying the whole cool shadow = warm light thing which works well with other colors but with dark skin, Im really messing up on. It works fine when Im in a more saturated range of midtones but If my mid tone is dark, thats when the muddy situation appears. Im going to try researching more on this if Im missing something fundamental when it comes to rendering dark skin.
