Added 2025-04-25 12:00:01 +0000 UTCMy name used to be Owen Marshal. I was a botanist with years of Lab experience, I thought I knew how to avoid accidental exposure. I took all the standard precautions, but, then again, this was a non-standard sample.
They had found it growing in the center of a crop circle and sent it to my lab cause it looked weird. Well it WAS weird. Monoecious asparagus! I had never seen such a thing! It was only temporary though, within a few days the Asparagus returned to a dioecious state. We had found it mid-transition.
Soon after I noticed that my chest felt tender and I began experiencing strange cramps. The condition progressed quickly! My balls receded and my scrotum split open forming a vulva. Soon I, like the asparagus, had the physiological characteristics of both sexes! I learned that every member of the on-site team was undergoing the same transformation. We were quarantined while the transformation ran its course. Every man becoming a woman, every woman becoming a man.
They torched the field and destroyed the samples. We assumed we had contained exposure.
But last week, a dozen more crop circles appeared across the globe and the government has called me in to consult on what looks to be an outbreak of contagious sexual monomorphism. God help us, I don’t think we can contain it this time!
