To end a devastating conflict, a coven of witches had reversed the links, bonding feminine power to men and masculine power to women so that it could never be used again. Magic was forgotten soon after, except, once in a while the power would manifest in one who did not conform to their birth gender.
Months ago, Brad’s friend Jonathan came out as Transgender and began transition as “Jenna.” Last night Jenna claimed she had accessed this power. She showed Brad that her body was now fully female despite only starting hrt weeks earlier. She performed other magical feats as well. Not understanding the cost, Brad begged Jenna for the same power, and Jenna granted it in the only way she could.
Now Brad feels new energies surging through unfamiliar flesh and wonders if it was worth it.
