Laura will never know that Bridget sacrificed being Brian to save her.

Oh Bridget, you look so lovely! I hardly recognized you. Your dress is so beautiful!

Brian maintained his composure despite the sting of his ex-girlfriend’s compliment. He nodded his head in acknowledgement as Laura moved on to flirt with two of the boys from Brian’s dorm.

They were all here, His ex-girlfriend, his college roommate, a bunch of guys from the dorms, Old high-school classmates, his neighbors, even a couple old teachers. Aunt Cheryl had done her best not to miss anyone for this little party. Aunt Cheryl was always meticulous in her efforts to humiliate Brian.

When Brian was injured and his parent’s killed in the crash last year, he was so weak and taking so many pills at the time that he didn’t notice the hormones and what they were doing to him for months. It wasn’t until Aunt Cheryl suggested a bra to contain his growing breasts that Brian realized what was happening and confronted her.

Cheryl then dropped the bomb. She blamed Brian for the accident. She would replace her lost sister with a new niece. If Brian resisted, she had a mountain of phoney evidence that would send his girlfriend Laura to prison for decades.

To save Laura, he broke up with her and announced that he was a transwoman. She was amazingly supportive and, at Cheryl’s suggestion, helped “Bridget” go around and come out to everyone she knew. She helped “Bridget” pick a new wardrobe, feminize her voice and taught her how to apply makeup. When “Bridget” had facial feminization surgery and her orchiectomy, Laura went around and got all of Brian’s old friends to sign a get-well card.

Today almost everyone Brian knew gathered at a party Aunt Cheryl was throwing to celebrate “Bridget’s” Big day, while Brian sat in silent terror.

Tomorrow, she was having bottom surgery.
