Opportunities and Changes

Hi, everyone!

As you know my life took some twists and turns recently. As one of the mayor changes I quit my full-time-9-hour-Job, that took so much time from me. Now I have the opportunity to finally dedicate myself more to my art, something that wasn’t possible all too often over the last years. And with that comes the big chance to actually make a living from my art – something that was a dream of mine since … ever.

And the tool to do that is Patreon – obviously. A platform, that I used for years now without knowing too much what I was doing. But to create a serious business model AND give you new art on a regular basis I took some help and rearranged the tiers on this page. Some of the old tiers got deleted, some new ones got created, others got reworked.
And to be frank: The fees got a little more expensive. That’s no denying it. The lower fees were fine as long as I had a full time job to keep myself fed. But to exist from drawing alone rising the fees is inevitable.
BUT of course you will get something in return for your money. First of all, I will be able to post new pages of the ongoing stories that I have in the making for oh so long like “Maggie” or “Jenny’s Achievements”. And there are new benefits that I have never offered before like polls for custom characters, different versions of specific pics (e.g. slob or none-slob-version etc.) or (and that’s a game changer) original signed drawings that will come to you via post. (My standard Dos and Don’ts are the same as always like No Nazi-stuff, no children … etc.)
In the following you will see the new tier list:

Skinny 1 €

Thanx for the tip! You are cool!
This tier is for tipping. You'll earn no extra benefits from it except my gratitude! ^^

Titanic 400+ €

Everything from lower tiers

All artworks will still be posted on my DeviantArt-page 30 days after they got released here, special artworks from higher tiers will go to DeviantArt 90 days later.

I hope you can understand why I took those changes, but I think this can be start of a great Win-Win. You’ll get way more of my content and I can make my dream come true and make a living from what I love and can do best.

Yours

I'm gonna be completely honest as someone who enjoyed your art long before. You have improved leaps and bounds and your talent for writing is there. The issue I have is for 20 dollars with other artist who produce higher quality art I get garnteed minimum posts a month and extra posts. 20 is too much based on the frequency of your posts in the past it's a hard sell for current subscribers and a hard pass for people like me who have adored your art for years and are just subscribing. You have to make a living but frankly you haven't posted enough in the past or even the last month to make me want to continue. If you were posting more I might have considered leaving an artist or two with infrequent posts but just scrolling down and looking this is the most frequent you've posted for a long while. While I did it one time I feel like my money could feel wasted later. Which is a terrible feeling as a subscriber. As of right now the benefits don't align with the asking price due to lack of consistency and unfortunately it takes time to rebuild that level of trust.

That's it exactly. I personally think he's worth every penny, and if I were rich, you know, I'd happily pay 500 bucks a month just to make sure that he can make a living. As it stands, though, I just can't afford to pay for something I'm not getting something out of. Just last month I had to make a lot of hard decisions about who to support on Patreon going forward. Like, I absolutely *adore* Patreon, and I love being able to directly support artists I love, whether they're fetish artists or not. It makes me feel good, and not just for the benefits. But I'm at a point right now where... I just... have to start making sure I'm actually getting something out of every dollar I spend. It genuinely makes me sad to be in this position and I hope everything works out here. His being deserving of the money isn't in question. It's just that... in this particular way, it can't come from me.

Oh man, same! When I first stumbled across his Deviantart page it totally blew my mind... I know what you mean about corny, but it's also true, his art has always been special to me for that reason, something about it resonates with me in a way that nobody else's art does... I understand that to earn a living from this he needs to be making more, and there's two ways of doing that. One is to get your current fan base to pay more, the other is growing your fan base so you've got more people contributing. I'm worried that by quadrupling the price he's going to push away his current fans and create a barrier to gaining new ones, therefore achieving neither of those of those things. I feel like one of the things that put people off in the past was the inconsistency and long periods without updates (which I totally understand, life often gets in the way), I'd like to think with a regular update schedule and better rewards like some patreon exclusives he'd gain more followers over time... and the prices might need to go up, I acknowledge that, but I think it should be done more gradually to find out what people are willing to pay for. I understand the desire to be making a living from this as soon as possible, but I’m not sure if that will happen as the result of a huge price increase.

Yeah same especially to that last sentence. I am so worried that he'll take what I said as an insult or whatever, and that's definitely not my intent. I would *love* to be in a position where I could pay this much. It might sound corny or silly but stumbling onto his art like... jesus, almost twenty years ago was one of my first signs that I wasn't the only person out there who liked... what we all like, lmao.

20$ is too much. See chlopiercer and skoo's replies for why

Oh buddy, you're breaking my heart. I can't help but echo the same sentiments as ChloPiercer. Similarly, I absolutely adore your art and want to support you, I've been a patron for over 5 years, pretty much since you started back in 2018, but this new pricing feels like a slap in the face. I support a few different artists on here and before this pricing change I was pledging €10 a month. That's already double what I'm pledging to any other artist and they still offer a range of benefits. You're now asking me to pay double again to see something you're going to post for free in a few weeks anyway. I know you need to get paid, but I can't afford to spend almost €250 a year and pledging for nothing in return feels bad after supporting you for so many years. I worry other people will feel similarly. I hope I'm wrong and this works out as a better income stream than what you had previously. Sorry if it feels like I'm attacking you, I say it with love, honestly. Hopefully one day my financial situation will be better and I can support you again.

Skoo

Dude, I'm sorry, but you just effectively quadrupled the price of getting any benefits from supporting you, and even then it's only to be able to see art a month early? I adore your work, and I owe a lot to you, and I'd love to be able to pay you that much, maybe someday I'll be able to afford that but I can't afford over $20 US a month, and I can't give you the $5 I already was for no benefit at all. I understand you need to get paid but this is... a *really* big jump.

All we need now is for Studiofa to return.
