For long space journeys, colonists minds were stored in computers to be reimplanted in 3d printed bodies when they arrived.
Major Chuck Stevens, Earth Defense Commander of the Vesta colony mission awoke in a crashed escape pod. Chuck was alone, stranded, and suddenly a woman!
A glance at the logs revealed that she was also, already pregnant! A new eve on an alien world. The mission parameters would require her to have as many daughters as she could, and for her girls to do the same until population hit sufficient diversity.
As she tightened the waist of one of the few garments in the pod, she sighed in resignation under this new sun. Determined to carry out her duty even if it was far from the manly adventure she had planned.
