Leonard gazed out the window at the wide green fields between the cabin and the forest. He could always run. Yes, he would be stuck in this body and have to live out his life as a woman with no Identity, but at least he would be free of Glen and his witch of a mother.
A month ago, Leonard had taken a wrong turn while hiking and wandered up to this cabin. The old woman had been anxious that her boy hadn’t found a nice girl to settle down with so she decided to make one, out of Leonard.
The magic spell was painful as Leonard’s bones and organs reshaped into the beautiful girl the woman planned for her Son.
She gave Leonard a month to adjust to his new life and be courted by Glen before the wedding.
That month had now passed, Leonard didn’t like being a woman any more than he had the first day and Glen’s clumsy flirtations were simply humiliating.
Now Leonard could hear organ music in the main room, The wedding ceremony was about to begin. He was about to become some country bumpkin’s blushing bride.
And after the ceremony, there would be the wedding night, and then a life as a wife and mother to the witch’s grandchildren.
Or Leonard could run.
