Then a miracle showed up in the form of a woman named Julia Lilith. Julia had stolen the formula for her mother’s MACR drug and wanted to use it to save lives rather than punish men.
Modified Accelerated Cellular Regeneration (MACR) would “reset” Robert’s cells to their default genetic configuration and force them to remain in that state, eliminating the cancer and making Robert ageless and immortal. However, all human zygotes begin as female, only a hormone trigger in utero causes males to develop. Robert’s cells would not react to that trigger anymore. MACR always feminizes when it heals.
Roberta was in perfect health and enjoyed her morning run, despite the bounce of her new breasts. She paused at the park to take in another sunrise she didn’t think she would live to see. Life as a woman was harder than as a man, but she had life and that was enough.
