First post of 2024! [And first look on Nier Duo pt.2]

Hello my Sweethearts!
Dzikan is back!
In fact, a comeback was bound to happen at the beginning of the week, but who is the lucky girl who caught a flu and was out for a whole week? Because of me our Tao was infected too, but somehow he managed to be stronger, took care of my illness and started the work earlier.
So I want to say that I’m getting back to you fully recharged after the week break, but it’s only partially true because of the flu. )
At least it’s true on a mental level, so I think that’s more than enough! And I hope, this year will be full of great achievements and finds.

The first project of the year is the second part of Nier Duo 2Bx2P photoshoot. The second part is planned to be a bit different from the first part. The main difference can be described with words friendly “confrontation” and “competition”. This time these two beautiful androids will try to win your hearts, but also stay protective of each other’s bond.
It reminds me of japanese/korean idol girl groups, where each member tries to be the first girl, but not to overshadow others. By the way, do you read manga? If yes, “Oshi no Ko” will be a good read. Sometimes stupid and a bit exaggerated, but overall plot flow is great. )

If I put it simple, the second part of the project will contain more individual shots, mixed with extra close paired shots. Are you curious? )

I wanted to talk about our plans for 2024, what projects you should expect to see and what’s new on the horizon. But I remembered that whenever I start to talk about the future it fails to happen. Don’t know why, so in order to not scare the Good away I’ll just mention the direction - Games. )

Recently, I watched a very interesting video on youtube. The topic was “fourth-person games”. As you know, there are first-person, second-person and third-person points of view. The most known to us, understandable and widely used first and third povs. Second-person pov sometimes used in books and cinema. It can be described as the pov of the author, who can also be the character involved in the storyline alongside the main character, who’s story he is telling. I also have a thought that paintings and photos can also be considered as second pov. Technically we see the image directly from the eyes of the painter or photographer. Very close to third person.
By the way, example for the second pov was one mission in old spider-man game, where you see the spidey through the sniper scope of Kraven the hunter. You control Spidey, fight foes and dodge the shots from the Kraven.
So the fourth pov games are those that provide us the “global” pov. Technically you’re not playing the character, but you’re the part of powers that help the protagonist to push through the obstacles. Your pov is not that same pov of the character. Your pov is provided by the world around you and powers beyond you, and you interact only with them, not the character.
Technically speaking and with a wide stretch coop games like “It takes two” and “A way out” can be considered fourth pov. Because the gameplay is affected by your partner's actions too. The good example might also be “Among us”, because the final outcome is decided by the group vote. Or the horror game (name I forgot), where you help the girl to escape by navigating her through security cameras. The only thing you can do is switch between them and say out loud what to do.
The fourth pov is more like combination of all previous povs, where the main point of the story will be overall outcome. Basically this pov heavily depends on the ones feels and thoughts.
It was an interesting idea to think about. And to how it would be possible to implement in photography. But I came to the conclusion that it’s a great metaphysical idea, which works badly in the physical world.
What do you think? Have you heard about fourth pov? How do you think it would be possible to implement such an idea in photography? I think it’s a very interesting topic to discuss and I would be really interested in hearing your thoughts. )

As always, I got too deep in other topic. )
Before I go, here is the first “first look” of 2024! I hope you’ll like the result and curious to see more!

Have a great weekend!

P.S.: I'll start answering to messages right away. Sorry for the wait!

The shadow on the model's back is so cool

Welcome back! Hope the remainder of 2024 finds you in greater health! I'd never thought about 2nd-/4th-person perspective in games, but I guess 4th-person would describe many aerial-view strategy games (wargames in particular). The camera doesn't represent any particular viewpoint nor follow any specific character; instead, it is a means for the player to see and directly control the characters for the sake of gameplay. Not sure how one would equate that in photography though... ::think::
