Ireland, I agree absolutely. In terms of dresses they should be buttoned from collar to hem, all buttons closed. For Germans these kind of stripes are a bit sensitive, you know, but honestly I have a passion for vertically striped inmate dresses (I share this passion with another friend, who is/ was a supporter of nomatterwhat55) I agree about the absolute minimum conditions for detention, although I see no difference here compared to long term detainees. Anyway, the judicial system has a big flexibility to change from a short-term sentence to a mid-term resp. long-term punishment

2024-08-16 20:43:26 +0000 UTCFor the prisoners, I think their uniforms need to have buttons from collar to hem, with numbers and other identifiers highly visible on their uniforms. And, their cells should also be very spartan…just the bare minimum. Thoughts?

2024-08-16 19:35:20 +0000 UTCEven if this cell block is for short-timers or “minor” offenders, the prison discipline is still extremely strict, and the rules and regulations that prisoners must follow are extensive. If convicts on this cell block can follow the rules and protocols, there is perhaps some hope that they can avoid long-term incarceration. If they can’t follow the prison rules and regulations, than there is plenty of room in the longer-term cell blocks made up of incorrigible prisoners facing years behind bars under extremely strict conditions…

I definitely feel that one of the most important rules for these prisoners is that their collar must be buttoned at all times, no exceptions, unless ordered to unbutton by a member of the prison staff. Discipline and order are of the upmost importance. Would it be possible to see something like that?
