FB: Chapter 38 – Tournament Of Champions Part 2

“You certainly are knowledgeable Foxy Blight,” Eagle Eye said.

“And your reactions are as keen as your name. Understanding the situation immediately,” I replied since he had kneeled and didn’t look upon the Human Emperor, keeping his stats.

“Just common sense really. So many people seem to lack it. I am afraid I am going to have to end your run here Foxy Blight. Tricks won’t save you from me,” he said and brought up his sword and shield.

Eagle Eye was a traditional sword fighter, but his reactions were insanely fast, touching on the edge of precognition making him a strong S class fighter. In real life, he had been born without any limbs or eyes. Supposedly he was able to take in more data and send more data to Exponential than almost any other person since his brain had nothing else to do, since he was a human nugget in the real world.

However he processed the information being sent into his brain by QAI was far superior to us lesser humans. That was why he was an S class combatant. But it was made even worse, since he had a very analytical mind that worked quite quickly as well. On a good day he would definitely rank as S+.

“Then come, let us fight and see who truly is better,” I said with a smile and pulled an item off my bandolier while slowly walking forward. He got in a ready stance and activated my skill, Blink. I had to focus on where I wanted to appear very clearly in my mind while activating the skill. I had practiced quite a bit in secret from the time I got to skill to the start of the tournament.

I appeared just behind Eagle Eye on his left side and above the ground slightly. Murk Barf. I unleashed the skill all over the back of his head. His reaction time was amazing. Even when I had begun puking on him, he was already diving forward. He had most likely guessed that I would appear behind him the moment I disappeared.

I activated a force shield to impact his sword while he was trying to roll that he threw backwards over his shoulder directly at my head. I wouldn’t be able to stop him or his armor with the consumable, but his weapon was fair game. I rushed forward while pulling out an ass fruit off my bandolier and used Murk Barf a second time. Eagle Eye had let go of his sword and tried to come to his feet, but being hit with another Murk Barf in the head sent him stumbling along the ground while he tried to get his orientation back.

He pulled out an antidote, but I was already moving around him, and he had trouble seeing. Even then, he managed to bring his shield up as I used another Murk Barf at him. It would have worked, but I had moved right next to him and used the skill right in his face. He wasn’t able to consume the antidote and tried to push me away with his shield. I used Murk Barf a fourth time right in his face.

For such a strong fighter it was an ignoble end. The problem for him was that Blink was a very powerful skill when an opponent wasn’t expecting it. Once I teleported behind him, I hadn’t let up the pressure for a single moment. I knew that if I gave him even the slightest chance there existed the possibility he could turn the fight around.

S level combatants were bullshit like that, which was why they were S level. They could snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. That was why I was very aggressive from the moment I used Blink, with every step of the fight in my complete control.

Winner! Standard 1v1: 100-0 Champion 1v1: 8-0 Tournament: 1-0
Please go to the center of the arena.

“Huh, I lost. Well, fought Foxy Blight,” Eagle Eye stood up, while covered with Murk Barf and held out a hand for me to shake. I shook it to the cheers of the arena. After that he turned to walk out while I made my way to the center of the arena and faced the Human Emperor who was behind a veil.

“Silence!” the herald called out and everyone quickly quieted down.

“Foxy Blight, you are named the Tournament Champion. You may make one request of me,” the Human Emperor declared. While many people might think it was an opportunity, it was a trap. One could make a request, but the Human Emperor was the biggest asshole out there. He would make it a difficult quest, giving a person the opportunity to earn what they requested. There was no reward for winning beyond having a shot at the Grand Champion title. I just needed to beat two more Champions. After that I was still unsure what was needed for the next title in the title track.

Some people had requested small items, which was seen as insulting the majesty of the Human Emperor and he would send out a Praetorian to test how strong you really were. Not doing the quest he assigned would also be seen as an insult to the generosity Human Emperor. It was like a multiple choice exam, where every choice had a bad outcome, even not making a choice.

I didn’t hesitate to kneel and bow my head as I made my request. “This servant of the Human Empire humbly requests a Travel Passport,” I said. Such an item could only be awarded by the Human Emperor. The only requirement was his approval. That was it. Attaching a quest to such an item, would be seen as being petty by the Human Emperor, which he couldn’t be. It was also valuable enough to not invoke his ire either.

The bad part about this was, that I had no need for a Travel Passport right now. Leaving the boundaries of the Human Empire was not something one wanted to consider until they were at least level 100. Still, it would get me out of this predicament.

A platinum slate with runic symbols on it was thrown into the sand in front of my face. The Human Emperor was expressing his annoyance with me escaping his pettiness, but that was fine. The noble NPCs knew about the Human Emperor and how he liked to behave. He was meticulously fair and just, but if he could get away with it, he loved abusing his power and crushing both people and NPCs.

It was a game to the man. Since he was already so powerful, he liked to try and destroy people while staying within the strict guidelines he had set himself. As long as a person was part of the Human Empire and didn’t threaten to wreck the place, he would stay within the boundaries he had set or that QAI had imposed.

“All rise and pay homage to Emperor Catan Shadam Ixxion the Twelfth, Supreme Ruler of the Human Empire, Duke of the Imperial Capital, Protector of the Realm, and Divine Saint of the Trinity!” I kept looking down and kneeling. I could have looked up, but I already knew what the Human Emperor looked like, a very handsome man, who was really an overpowered asshole.

After ten seconds, trumpets sounded indicating he had teleported away along with his praetorian guard. I picked up the Travel Passport and stood up. I put it away in my inventory right away. I wouldn’t be getting a second one easily. Which was why it was very important not to lose Travel Passport I just got.

I then followed an attendant out of the arena to collect on my bet and all the betting fees that occurred, which made up the prize pool. I ended up with a total of 512 platinum, which was an insane amount. If I exchanged that all for cash, I would be able to get around 20 billion dollars. I planned to exchange only 100 platinum for about 7 billion dollars. The more that was exchanged, the more the exchange rate would be shifted. That much money, would secure my future in the real world without any concerns.

Next, I submitted merchandise for all the Champions I had defeated. The sales would be a nice continual income stream for years to come. I also submitted a second Foxy Blight model that wasn’t capped in terms of sales, since the first limited edition model had sold out.

My next stop was the Traders Union to exchange 100 platinum for mystic money, making me several billion dollars richer. Now I would need to make several quick moves in succession after this. The main thing would be to stabilize my guild and purchase an actual guild building in game.

The Fanged Fox guild just had a Guild License, which was what everyone else had. But that basically meant your guild could have up to 20,000 members and was basically a club. What I really wanted was a Guild Charter, which would allow the guild to actually own land instead of renting.

It had been tempting to ask for a Guild Charter from the Human Emperor, but then he would have given my guild the chance to participate in some really hard fight to earn the Guild Charter instead of going the normal route. It was too valuable to just hand out for winning a tournament. It also impacted more people than just myself, which would be the justification used to give a quest. Something along the lines of, ‘Let all those who look at Foxy Blight as inspiration prove themselves just as she did in the arena.’

The Travel Passport on the other hand was valid just for me. One only needed wealth and the Emperor’s permission to get one. At a certain level of strength this permission was automatically given. Since I had won a gauntlet version of the tournament, there was no room for the Human Emperor to scam me with a quest instead of the actual item.

AN: The meme contest became an illegal meme contest due to a RR moderation decision. I like to think that the memes were too strong and dank with this story. However, you can enjoy a great meme that was never ever part of the contest and wonder if there are any secret MemeLords out there. I put the rest of the memes, that in no way came from an illegal meme contest here, FB: Memes | Patreon. Only strictly legal memes.

I know, after I turn the ads back on, I despaired for my soul the entire site is pure meme. Now this is now a NOT illegal meme community. No illegal memes here. We are not trafficking in illegal memes.
