Black lives matter.

"Yes black lives matters but all lives matters that's the true message" No one's saying all lives don't matter. But there are problems affecting black people disproportionally. It's more like, black lives matter too, but that doesn't have the same ring to it. No one is saying all lives matter because everyone know white lives matter, it doesn't need to be said. The whole point of saying black lives matter is to shine a light on the issues that unfairly affect black people. By saying all alives matter you're trying to muddy the message and hide those problems. White privledge is absolutly a thing. It's a factor like any other privledge and it doesn't mean a black person can't have more privledge than a white person. But it's certainly a factor, just a few months ago during hte democratic primary there was that leaked audio of bloomberg who said he told the cops to target black people with stop and frisk. And we all know how police interactions with black people can go. That's not to say that black people don't over exagerate the benefits of white privledge, yes, we may not know what it's like living life as a black person but that can cut both ways. The grass is always greener on the other side. "I truly believe that the vast majority of white people are not racist" The word racism get's thrown around way too easily. There's a big difference between old school racism where they would hang people and then just, treating someone slightly different because of assumed differences, like assuming asians are good at math. It's all technically racism but lets not fool ourselves and act like both people are as bad. But it;s important to recognise. Perhaps we need alternative terms for severity.

Just because being born in a certain country confers privilege doesn't negate the existence of white privilege. I grew up poor as fuck, but that doesn't mean I get racially profiled when shopping or have to fear police brutality or experience a ton of other bs. And systemic racism has nothing to do with individuals being racist. The system itself is the problem (research redlining, for example, or consider the number of Black veterans who were able to take advantage of the GI bill's mortgage and education benefits post WWII, as two examples). And no, white people are not the only people who can discriminate. I wish we lived in a world were no one gave a fuck about skin color, but until we actually live in that world, saying all lives matter is like saying 'all houses matter' when one house is on fire but others aren't. All lives do matter, but right now, they are not treated like that and THAT is the problem. ok, I swear I am not going to become a preachy politics person all over my patreon. I just felt it was important to say something, especially given my enjoyment of raceplay and other kinks.
