Energy Types V1.2

A big shoutout to Henmicassa and Galileo for working out the type chart on their own. It took a lot of work scouring through the story, but they did it. Since they worked it out, I am releasing it in full along with an explanation.

The type chart is based around 3 axis. Positive/Negative, Mechanical/Ethereal, and Material/Immaterial. The energy types at these axis points exemplify the each of these natures. While the axis alignment should be considered a step above the type itself, it is fundamental to understanding the energy types.

Each axis itself are the ways under which energy can shift and act. One would look at the type chart and often be confused by the various types that are opposites each other. This is primarily due to the pure energy expression that several types have.

Positive: Is primarily focused on the energy moving and changing. It is more in flux and more easily shifted to other types of energy.

Negative: Is primarily focused on energy stilling and being static. It is less easily shifted to other types of energy.

Mechanical: Is primarily focused on altering the physical.

Ethereal: Is primarily focused on altering energy. This is the primary reason why the astrolabes use a nature-poison type crafting crystal to disrupt energy sensing at a distance.

Material: Is primarily focused on energy being expressed.

Immaterial: Is primarily focused on energy being contained. This is why all weapons are system metal. While cloth and other non-metal objects can hold enchantments, they are not as good.

As we look at each type of energy, it becomes evident why it falls onto its place in the chart based on how it is expressed.

Skills people, and even monsters are not composed of a single type. Crafting crystals are the closest approximation to pure energy types. One should view the type chart as a sphere, rather than discrete points. The points are merely guideposts on one's path to understanding what energy does what.

That raises the question of why there are 4 mental aspects instead of 8 and if other types have mental aspects. It is observed that the emotions that are on the negative portion of the type chart, lean towards the material while the emotions on the positive half of the type chart lean towards the immaterial.

The negative emotions work more on physical principles, while the positive emotions work more on mental principles. In addition, while the type chart is laid out as a sphere, it is unknown if that is its true shape. Some types are far more prominent than others in both monsters and skills.

There is only the very rare oil-friction type monster compared to the near endless amount of force or nature-poison type monsters. Regardless of the density, one thing that is known are that opposites cancel each other out and produce an annihilation effect.

Each type has an opposite and the rod and combinations only produce one of these 26 types.

naming them on the flat version of the chart would be nice until i know the symbols by heart, but definitely really cool. fun to think about abilities and their possible counters

The annihilation effect occurs when opposite energy types interact with each other. For example, if the skills Radiant Beam & Void Beam collided they would cancel each other out and produce an annihilation effect.

I don’t see the melt type from Acid Shot’s Fluid(Liquid?) Melt type. Is the chart incomplete?

I can read english adleast I believed I did.. But my IQ maaaay need some guiding hand to understand that chart... Never been the brightest apple of the bunch
