They just tried to claim that a person with dissociative identity disorder (D.I.D.) can have 2 blood sugar counts ....Yeeeeeaaah ...That's NOT. possible (as you guessed) ...BUT... It IS. very possible that 1 alter can take action during signs of trouble while another can choose to let things happen ...Story-wise this would put "one of them" more at risk than "the other" at developing diabetus ...Which is what they were trying to go for in that court scene ....But realistically speaking ofcourse they both share the same body and the risk count is equal ....Buuuuutttt... This being the show it is ...And the writers probably having taken minimal time to actually put any research into the mental illness of the week they decided to use for their story ...And given they're probably also too dumb to see the flaw in their logic ...They figured they would write this in and think their audience would be too stupid to question it ....They were wrong ofcourse as we saw right through that shit 2. Beeteedubs ...This whole case is wack ...Given they KNOW. their client is mentally ill ...This entire case wouldn't make it into court UNTIL. AFTER. the client would undergo treatment and a medical professional would clear them to be fit to stand trial ....At which point this case would probably not even be held any longer since the person would more than likely not need a court to figure out their marital issues given it all stems from the fictional reason "One of my alternate personalities wants a divorce while another doesn't" ...It's an interesting case for a show but not realistic at all 3. Souls ...Dominant personalities ...It DOESN'T matter ...This case is invalid and what SHOULD. be done is this woman should be admitted for treatment at a mental facility ...The writers of this show once again show they have ZERO. knowledge on how to deal with / write about people with a mental illness 4. Wow... Business must be pretty fucking shit for Vondra that she had to resort to taking a gig playing at Ally's birthday ....Makes sense 5. True... There is NO. cure for D.I.D. ...Therefore the drug that Helen was court ordered to take could NEVER. have worked the way the show said it did ...When dealing with people with D.I.D. they usually get prescribed anti-depressants and anti-psychotics which help MANAGE. the issue but they DON'T. cure the issue ...The person suffering from D.I.D. (much like with a lot of other mental illnesses) will have to fight part of the battle themselves and it's a life-long struggle made EASIER. with meds ...Or you can end up like me.. Having been on meds for so long that at some point you've learned to live with your illness and you can do without the meds (Keep in mind I don't have D.I.D. and it's possible that it's a life-long requirement for those people to stay on meds even IF. they know how to live with it) ...The fact that the Helena alter took over permanently was just a load of bullshit made up by people who don't know shit about anything and are just in it for the drama and the cheap laughs 6. You're right ...They did take the issue serious and didn't try to make a joke out of it ...But holy shit ...They were SO. absolutely WRONG. about the way they treated it ...I think the previous notes say enough ...There is NO. cure and this SHOULDN'T have been a court case ....But props I suppose on them for not making jokes.. I am shooketh ...If only they took things a bit more serious in regards to these kinds of issues in every other episode aswell 7. Also ...Props for the show for actually acknowledging that Ally needs help ...I'm ofcourse referring to the court scene where John says Ally is mentally ill but she's managing to raise a daughter ...Although I still stand by the fact that she should be admitted to a mental facility given she's walking around having full-on hallucinations ...But that's probably not how the show ends ...They never really acknowledged it before ...It'd be quite a shocking turn of development if it were to happen in the last episode 8. That said... And I've stated this before ...This show would have a plausible ending if in the last episode we'd find out that Ally has been in a mental facility all along and her "co-workers" are all just random people who work / reside at the facility ...While still pretty shitty ...I would accept it since THAT. would make sense! 9. Will I miss any of these characters? ...No ..Not at all ...Even John Cage is ultimately forgettable in my opinion ...Side characters though? ...We'll get into that in a moment 10. Do I have favourite seasons? ...NOPE. ...Not even Season 4 ...I have favourite moments though ...Or well... When it comes to THIS. show ...A favourite moment ...Let's dive into that one 11. As with ALL. shows/movies... Some MOMENTS. will always stay with me ...Throughout the years ...Yes ..Years ...Long before you ever watched this show ..The ONE. thing this show managed to do was teach me the value of making grand gestures when it comes to the people I love ...That moment of RDJ showing up with Sting for Ally's birthday lives rent free in my mind ....A younger me (Watching this show when it first aired on Dutch TV) saw that scene and geeked out seeing how this character surprised someone he loved with a grand gesture and it left a burning impression ...If there's ever any way to tell how much I care for a person ...Look at how far I'm willing to go to make them happy ...And I am NOT. just talking birthdays ...I go out of my way for the people I love ...Partially cause of the inspiration that scene gave me ....It's the ONE. and ONLY. good thing I can think of when looking back on this show... Many shows/movies have helped shape me into the person you know ...And THAT. scene is a MAJOR. contributor to that particular aspect of who I am today 12. That said ...Side characters ...RDJ ..He was the BEST. thing about this show... There is NO. contest to his character. (on this show) ...But I'm probably weird for saying this and I lack the words to explain it properly ...But I still can't put a "favourite" tag on him ...It's just certain moments I liked ..Besides it would be pretty fucking sad to rate a side character as THE. favourite character of a show 13. And look at all this ...I haven't even mentioned 95% of the main cast ...None of their characters meant anything to me and I don't really have anything to say about them ...I... won't... miss.. them ...I'm glad we're moving on ..Honestly I can't wait to be done with this show 14. Aaaaand now for my closing arguement ...Before you go and judge this last episode ...Let the record show that you've tried to give up on this show a bunch of times and pretty much every time I encouraged you to keep going and not be a quitter ...And you didn't quit ...You kept going and here we are ..You're about to finish this horrible excuse of a shit show... You can say that you did it.. That you managed to pull through ...It still doesn't make you a completionist though ..Cause we both know damn well you've given up on several other shows/episodes before ...But good job Froots ...You managed to make it to the end of what might well be one of the worst shows EVER. ....The jury is still out on what show will be replacing Ally McBoredNow (if any) but it can't be worse than this and there's no way to jinx that.. I mean ...Come on ..Be honest ..Can you think of a show that's more deserving to be found guilty of being branded the worst show? ...You be the judge ...One last episode Froots ...Good luck

2024-10-04 05:05:31 +0000 UTCOK, so the case is involving someone with dissociative identity disorder . Could be interesting. I’m expecting them to treat this as a joke, not nice, but par for show. People with DID usually do have a primary identity that originated with the person. In most cases it tends to be the more passive identity. In no case would the dissociative identify be given preferential treatment. The alters are just fractured components of the original identity. In this case both Helen and Helena are parts of the original identity Helen. Saying the illness has more right to the body than the primary just because it is stronger is like saying that cancer has more right to survive than regular human tissue because it is stronger than healthy cells, thereby making chemotherapy murder. The only accepted treatment legally and medically is therapy to reintegrate the personalities into one. Well at least they tried to take it serious. Favorites in series. Georgia naked butt was nice…sorry… I liked Cage most of the time. He was funny character but sympathetic. Weird most of the time but also the law firm’s best lawyer. His silliness was sometimes over the top but still I enjoyed most of his work. Fish was a caricature of a sexist womanizer for comedy’s sake but had some rare moments of heart. While he was rude, he was often entertaining to watch. And without him, we wouldn’t have Fishisms. I liked Nell when she was with Cage, to me that was her character at her best. I mean the episode she got Barry White to sing for Cage was touching. It doesn’t hurt that she is extremely pretty. Elaine was sexy, she also brought a great singing voice to show, far better than Vonda. Beyond that she had a couple heart felt moments but for the most part she was forgettable. Billy was an ass 99% of the time. The only thing he brought to the show was a decent episode when he died. The weird thing is, his death seemed to be the tipping point in the show where I really started to lose interest. The show was good for a variety of Guest stars. Some good, some not so good. Got to love RDJ being on show. But it also tended to lose people from the show with no explanation. They would just not be there anymore. No reason given. I found that frustrating. As for Ally, as the main character, not good. I rarely sympathized with her. I rarely understood her. Her character really had no arc. She is the same person in last season as in the first, no growth, no decline. They never explain the constant halucinations, they do explain them with Billy, but not her. I don’t like inconsistencies like that. The early seasons I believe were good, there was silliness but it was contained. There was also a lot of sadness and drama.

2024-10-01 20:09:05 +0000 UTCI guess the last 2 episodes weren't a 2 parter. I heard they were but it seems to not be the case. On the show in general, it was fun at a time, when the OG cast was all together. When they introduced Nell and Ling, it got more interesting. Unfortunately, it seemed like they just didn't know what to do with those characters anymore. I do hope that Ling at least shows up in the finale. Where the show really went off the rails was this season. All these new characters and they were pretty much flinging whatever they could to the wall and seeing what stuck. The only bright spot for me is Christina Ricci. If they had her in the beginning of this season, instead of Cyclops, Billy 2.0, new girl, and Claire, it would have been better I think. The problem was, they had more of a plan with RDJ's character but they had to fire him because of his arrest and drug problems. Jon Bon Jovi was not a good choice as a love interest. I think they had to write in new characters to make up for the lack of a good love story for Ally. I don't know if they knew that the show was cancelled before they finished filming. I wouldn't get your hopes up for an episode that feels like a satisfying series finale. I mean, we know how the 100th episode went also. In the end though, I'm glad we are here. You have one more episode to react to and the show is in the books and thank goodness! It was a chore to watch this season, I could only imagine how much worse it was for you to record it and keep going. Too bad for the show, it could have ended up being one of the good surprise shows that you did. It actually was at one point but this season just sours the taste of it, kind of like the last season of GOT. But, like I said before, one more ep to go and hey, it might totally surprise us! (I say that very little confidence, lol)

2024-09-30 06:30:40 +0000 UTCI really loved the early seasons of Ally. Season 4 is my favorite because I loved what RDJ brought to the show. I am still curious about what could have happened if RDJ was able to stay on. Season 5 just feels so..... off to me. I did not enjoy it and always find it a struggle to get through it so i appreciate how difficult it must have been for you to get through it.
