I thought the plot of this episode was pretty cool, but ended up being a pretty mid-level episode. I liken it to a Buffy season 1 episiode where it's still interesting in a few ways, but not the greatest episode of all time. Dickens was by far the best part of this episode, great actor.

I like the episode alright; it's maybe not "top tier," but I'd rank it higher than fair. I thought the supernatural actually being "otherworldly" in a more literal sense was interesting. I really like Charles Dickens being part of this, and him being the one to come up with a solution to save them; which itself I think was clever.
I saw a different reaction to this episode within the last few days; and it actually got me thinking that it might have been interesting if the Gelth hadn't turned out evil; if their claims of essentially being refugees was legitimate. Then Rose and the audience would be left to try and reconcile the ethical ambiguity of whether or not that was the right thing to do.

That makes me more excited. I love the past sometimes but not usually this far in the past.

Yeah i thought this episode was just ok too. I like the little bits of lore we are getting. The first episode is still my favorite so far.

I didn't want to watch this episode, when I was a kid because the last one, "the end of the world" scared me. So when I was the trailer for this one, I was like "no it's too scary", I can watch it now but I was only 7 when "unquiet dead" aired.

The episode was filmed in Swansea, Wales, with the interior scenes set in the reputedly haunted Cardiff Royal Infirmary. The spooky atmosphere of the real location added to the episode's eerie vibe.

This was the first episode I actually liked the first time I was watching this. I thought the first 2 episodes were fine, but I thought this one was good, not great, but good.
I liked the actor who played Dickens, I thought he was great, I thought it had some good creepy moments, I also liked Gwyneth and was sad that she died.
I did think some parts were slow and I didn't care much for the the undertaker. Also, he kept insisting it's not his fault, well sure, the dead coming back, not his fault. But covering things up, drugging and kidnapping Rose and deciding to feel her up, definitely his fault.

Fun facts! The Unquiet Dead was initially titled My Name's Dickens... Charles Dickens. It later held the title The Crippingwell Horror. The Angels of Crippingwell was also considered as a title.
Simon Callow, who plays Dickens, has also written extensively about the writer and is well known for playing Dickens on television and in a one-man show. The Unquiet Dead was his fifth time playing Dickens in a film or TV production.

Not a bad episode this, but I agree about the time period, not a huge fan of the stories set in the past.
