They weren't adversaries and they didn't meet as children (unlike in the show), but many parts of the show were improvised and the director interviewed PP and Billkin multiple times over 6 months and wrote the script and characters based on the interviews they had with BKPP. <3 The lyrics from the ost like coming of age, safe zone were also written with BKPP's input and you can see how personal it is because everytime they sing it, even now 8 years later, it always makes both of them cry. Not sure if you've delved into all the lore by now but BKPP met in an SAT tutoring class at 16. They were giving each other heavy come hither vibes for months but neither wanted to approach the other first (UM GAY TENSION MUCH). Finally BK cracked and talked to PP first when he found out PP had been casted for the same talent company as him (Nadao) and they pretty much became inseparable after that. You can watch their old Insta-lives and you can see just like in the show they were wildly obsessed with each other. Things in the show based in RL - PP really is from a wealthy family. PP didn't have aspirations in school while BK knew for sure he wanted to be an actor/singer and kind of brought PP along for the ride with him. The red/blue dolls Teh and Oh-Aew have are based on the Cookie Monster/Elmo dolls BK bought for PP when he was hospitalized while they were in HS. They both still have the dolls now and BK and PP were caught wearing Cookie Monster/Elmo couple shirts this year :3 The part where Bas drives PP everywhere is based on BK driving PP everywhere when they were in HS. They went to different HS and their houses were 20-30 miles apart but BK would bring PP home and they would hang out all day before BK drove PP home. In their 2024 concert, their staff revealed BK still wakes up early to drive PP to work to this day.
