Again, P'Aof has taken us on another roller coaster of emotions this episode. First, let me address what you said about the eye surgery. I think it was a necessary plot point for the story, as it facilitated Mhok and Mom beginning their journey of acceptance and understanding. Their conversation in the hallway outside Day's hospital room was a HUGE growth for them both. Something that I don't think would have so easily happened without Day going thru that process. Now, for the elephant in the episode ... the ending. I agree with everything you said about it during your reaction, including appreciating Mom's take on Mhok and Day's relationship. As I said in a previous comment, they are entering a new chapter, and things will have to change. I also agree with what Xiao Jun had to say in his comment above. Ever since he began losing his sight, Day has felt people around him are pitying him, and understandably so. I think that is a feeling that many disabled people have to deal with. So I get where he felt what happened with Mhok refusing and lying about his job opportunity felt to Day as if Mhok did it out of pity. And if we remember back early in the series, Day tended to have a bit of a temper, which I think resurfaced again here, when he said he wanted to break up. Granted, Mhok should not have lied to Day about it, and talked aobu it with him truthfully. But we also have to take into account what was probably going thru his head. First, he has fashioned himself as Day's "protector", and seems to be loathe to say/do anything that might hurt Day in any way. This is not "pity", but understandable worry about the person he loves. This is something Day seems to have trouble differentiating. As you mentioned, the whole business with Rung's suicide probably came back to him (hence his nightmare about it) when he realized he may have to leave day and be thousands of miles away. It's hard to blame either of them for what happened. All we can do is hope, like Mom said, that they love each other enough to eventually come around. Fortunately Day had Mom and Night for support. I'm more worried about Mhok, since Porjai is moving out. I have a feeling there will be a time jump(s?) in the finale, and it looks like maybe Night and Porjai will be getting married. Will this be what brings Day and Mhok back together? I was encouraged to see that Day went back to school and is apparently attempting to resume some sort of normal life. But remember, last week's preview was all about the eye surgery, and that was just part one! P'Aof has a way of cramming a LOT of story into one episode! I'm pretty sure that we will have a happy ending - maybe in the style of 1000 Stars, the Our Sky 2 version! Fingers crossed! See you next week!

He used that excuse in order to let mhok go and chase his dreams. He feels like he is the only thing that is keeping mhok from going or just doing anything without being day his priority, which he literally says in the episode. As we can see throughout all the series, that is his perspective of people pitying him. Since he went blind all he has experienced is people pitying him, so even knowing mhok doesn’t fell pity for him he just took the opportunity to let him go. Him asking his mom if it was the right thing to do just makes it clear. Also about the “unnecessary breakup”, they both as individuals needed that in order to grow as a person. Day so that he can become more independent and really start doing things on his own. Also so he can reach to a state of mind where he can differentiate when people are feeling pity for him and when they’re not. Moreover, the family is going to spend more time together and grow closer. Mhok, on the other hand, in order to let that fear of day being in danger everytime he is not with him go. As the mother says, being a caretaker and a boyfriend are two different things. And in that state of their relationship mhok was being both and just kept being worried about day all the time, one of the reasons why being his sister loss. The break up is going to let mhok understand that day can be okay without him being all the time there and slowly his fear is going to disappear and he will be in a better state of mind. I understand where P’Aof is coming from with this episode.
