This was back in the '70s, when we had maybe five channels. And not all Sunday deliveries were great. But the Sunday night movie was always a big deal. It always felt like a special end of the weekend treat, before you had to get up and go to school the next day.

2025-09-24 21:58:51 +0000 UTCAshleigh, a couple things. This is the extended version. The “Portabello Road” song isn’t nearly as long in the theatrical version. I love this movie, but even when I re-watch it, I fast-forward through the soccer game. 🤣 and you commented about the music was Mary Poppins knock-offs or something. Actually, the songs are by the exact same songwriters as Mary Poppins…the Sherman brothers. I think the suits of armor coming to life and those special effects won an Academy Award. Great for 1971.
