So if you’re following the timeline the next thing to watch is THE CLONE WARS Animated TV show (5 seasons) but I know that’s not gonna happen (real shame though as this is where you’ll get the answers from Tv shows that are to come)

I am laughing so hard! I saw this movie and the next one, one time each. In the theatre. I have had no desire to watch them again. I’m of the age that I am hardwired to not like the prequels. 😜 But, watching Ashleigh emphasizes so precisely how different a watching experience the prequels are for those who saw the original Star Wars trilogy in the theatre vs. those who don’t come into the series with that baggage. I keep laughing every time Ashleigh says, “I don’t know. There’s just something about that chancellor. I don’t trust him.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 We old people didn’t get to come to that realisation on our own. We knew his end game from the time his casting was announced for Phantom Menace! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So then why 1, 2 and 3? Rogue One is outstaning and the realization at the conclusion is fun. Rogue One is everything thee prequels ccou have been.

I always see decals on cars that say "Always". I believe it's a HP reference, I'm curious to get the meaning of that.

I enjoyed the MCU very much but HP has my heart. I think the books are more substantial and fleshed out but short of taking on that reading commitment, the movies are the next best thing.

i felt like the storylines of the Prequels lack the emotion the original trilogy had...

It's the perfect way to "finish" Star Wars.

I loved the books, though heads up to anyone thinking of reading them they are definitely kids books. The Narnia movies were also just ok. Fairly true to the books but to me felt like they lacked any real heart.

Not sure I can stop my MCU momentum to start HP......they keep getting better.....I'll have to think about it.
I've seen the first Narnia movie and enjoyed it, I bet the books were really good.

HP was kind of "take it or leave it" for me, maybe because I grew up on the Narnia books so they seemed kind of bland comparatively, but given that it's 8 movies long I figure I will do the watch alongs as I've found some films to be more interesting when watching them through her eyes.

I started MCU because of all of you comments and I'm loving them. I could see giving HP a try.

I don't remember much about Heather's....but I do like Christian Slater and Winona Ryder.
Since Ashleigh love's Stranger Things, she might like to see a younger Winona.

As I was trying to think of more female-led movies, I was like, ooh, "Heathers!" And then I remember how effing dark that movie is

As much as I love a good action movie, a chick flick is good to see every now and then.
She mentioned she may be starting Harry Potter.... I've not seen any of those.

You should probably fix the title on these, this is Attack of the Clones, not Clone Wars.

Thanks for the list, I'm not the best source for suggesting "chick flicks" ;)

Other movies that I believe she would like:
Easy A
Ever After
While you were sleeping
The Bodyguard
Overboard
Stepmom
Under the Tuscan sun
Mystic Pizza.

I second Thelma and Louise. Ashleigh would absolutely love it. Hopefully she sees this and puts it in her next poll.

If we're talking recent films (that I also avoid suggesting) about women, though again possibly troubling to suggest for Ashleigh, I really appreciated The Tale with Laura Dern. If you haven't seen it I highly suggest it.
Kenton Kruger

Not sure I agree with those examples. They weren't important in those movies, while the prequels talk and talk about political stuff, so that now matters. But hey, I am a lost cause. I've watched the Harry Plinkett reviews too many times :D

True. I am always a bit apprehensive about T&L because of... um... no spoilers... but she should see it at some point. And I largely avoid suggesting too-recent movies, but dang, I did enjoy "Widows."

Ashleigh, after you finish the prequels, I would implore you to watch Rogue One. It will bring the story full circle. And yes, you're gonna cry.

Same could be been said of the originals, but no one cared to ask.
What’s with the Imperial Senate being dissolved?
Who is Tarkin?
What’s are ion cannons and why aren’t they used more frequently/effectively?
Why is Luke’s new saber green?
Doesn’t matter; just shut up and watch the space wizards.

It's also been a couple months since she's had any sort of female lead movie, and longer since one that's a female lead drama, and she seems to really like those. Even though I'm not a fan and had issues with it, maybe should push for Thelma and Louise, I do think she'd like it. Or older stuff like Gone with the Wind or some classic Hollywood female lead like Marilyn Monroe.

Sounds like Ashleigh is getting a bit action-movie'd-out... next poll should have Top Secret. Looks like there's been a demand for that again, what with the recent Top Gun Kilmer bump

the clone wars tv series makes certain events in episode three so much sadder and the clone are a reference to laias line in a new hope " you fought with my father in the clone wars" the colors do mean something green is diplomatic green are great worriers purple is you can redirect the dark side back at your enemy red is when the sith poor there hate fear and ager into a cyper crystal to make it 'bleed"

LOL. Yoda has to use the force when fighting to have extra speed and agility for flips. he isnt gonna use the force just to walk...that would be an abuse of power...jedi code and all that. thats why when anakin and padme were having some fruit, anakin floated the "space pear" in the air and he told padme Kenobi wouldnt like him to use the force for menial tasks..but he did it anyway.

I said this earlier in another thread, but that's an unfortunate aspect of social media: people are statistically more likely to interact with something they hate or disagree with than they are towards things they like or support. A simple "like" may be more than most people will do to posts they genuinely do like, but show them something they disagree with and they'll type a manifesto.

Ashleigh... no worries if you found this harder to follow... the prequels really are messier. My friend showed his daughter the original trilogy when he felt she was old enough to watch them. She watched all three and understood everything. No questions. He later showed the prequels, and she had SO MANY QUESTIONS. "What's with the taxes on trade?" "WHO is COUNT DOOKU?" Half the time, he answered, "Sweetie... I don't know."

Never a good choice to talk about movies in terms of best and worst - it's more about your own personal opinions. Favorite and least favorite are the better terms. And in that, a million opinions will vary. Lots of people enjoy these movies, but they don't put as much energy into letting everyone know about it like the people who don't like it will. I'll never understand why it means so much to let everyone know you don't like something the way people are about Star Wars movies. Like 'em. Don't like 'em. It's on you. Leave everyone else to their own.

Probably want to edit the title to "Episode II: The Clone War" because "The Clone War" has many various iterations.
