ASHLEIGH... Did you hear the "pants" line at 59:30?

Yeah, I'll agree with that. But, damn, Ashleigh's reactions are so much fun, I'll watch them anyway.

While it isn't important, David is inarguably correct. Vinny could not have passed the information to her at any time -- it is during the 60 minute lunch recess that she learns he was confronted about "Jerry Gallo" and does not tell her what his solution was. They immediately fight, which is then immediately followed by the win, which is then immediately followed by him trying to leave, only to have the judge shaking his hand.
Luckily, the solution is that she doesn't have to be told at all. She's on the phone in the courtroom hallway when Vinny comes out to get her. She doesn't have to know what excuse Vinny gave to be able to call Vinny's old mentor and say someone's running a background check on him, and can you take care of that for me?

The white noise is less frustrating for me than the times she ends up with a PAL copy running at the wrong speed, although I did notice it.

I bring it up because it's not something I normally hear on any other reactor, and when you rarely do, it gets fixed right away and usually doesn't come back. Also, I'm surprised that people don't notice it more because at times, like in this movie, I actually have to adjust my audio levels to keep the white-noise from obscuring the audio in my watch-along video.
Funny thing is, you mention the cat-related noises - I welcome them, especially the loud purring, because it often resets the white-noise as well as if Ashleigh had spoken.

I never mention it because I rarely if ever even notice it. Other noises only really bother me when they have a large variation, like when the mic picks up her brushing the cat.

I know that, for whatever reason, nobody wants to acknowledge it, but the (probable auto-gain induced) white-noise was really loud in this one.

Mr. Gwynne is responsible for two of my favorite movie quotes. This one, and "Sometimes dead is better."

They were pretty close. I just assumed he passed the info to her at his first convenience. I miss the days when it was OK for stuff to happen off screen and the audience said "Oh, ok, that probably happened off screen."

Yea, entering the well is something that all the courtroom dramas get wrong. I remember that legal eagle episode though. It was a good one.

The "Legal Eagle" channel has an episode on this, and also suggests/commends it for courtroom accuracy. Well, except entering the well. But even that was done plausibly.

Might have been in a cut scene. There is not a frame of film which is not directly telling the story, so they were probably pretty ruthless with edits.

Plot hole: There was never a point in the movie where Lisa found out about Vinny changing his name from Gallo to Callo.

My classmates and I watched this movie all the time after studying for our law school finals. Kind of like a tradition.
Contempt of court means your courtroom behavior was disrespectful to the court of law. Basically you pissed off the judge.

I grew up in the Deep South and grits were such a big thing. I love them! I live far away now and have to order my grits online because you can't find them in the state I live in. :( Ain't nothing better than some warm buttery salty grits and a biscuit on the side!

In fairness, I've known a ton of people who have eaten grits but didn't know they were made of corn.

Yeah, after I posted it I realized it’s entirely possible they have grits in Tennessee, but whatever. It’s a reference she gets now, at least. I’m from Missouri and we have grits here but it’s not a big thing.

...no grits in Tennessee? :-/ They had grits when I went to Georgia and Florida, but that's a different state, I know.
