All of this seems to be getting into Orozco's mind.
in my original concepts of this episode, Orozco was supposed to continue being a cold b*tch and not mind about Laura's suffering.

this scientist was born as an alternative character to C.Wally for the Custus comic story, she was supposed to be much worse than him.

But as I was writing the remake and decided to include her in Laura's story, things begin to change, C.Wally was supposed to be more "in charge" of Laura's brainwashing when I came up this bit of story, but with the remake it made more sense to include Orozco's here, gave her the skills to do it better too.

But I realized this was maybe too much for her cold facade to resist... she's mostly put feelings aside and became a cold monster (but I tried to make her reaction towards Ivory much more soft compared to how she's acted with Alpha. She stayed when Alpha and Ivory got wounded, because she was mostly worried about Ivory after all in episode 11)

I think people can become dark shadows due suffering and pain, she might even start to realize the same. but we'll see... maybe this can make her become worse? specially now that C.Wally is back in the picture and she's been following his lead for a long time now.
