I'VE BEEN SO OBSESSED WITH DRAWING FANTASY AU LATELY T__T
I included pics of all of my fundamental steps! I basically go through this process with every piece I do.
1) lines
2) flats
3) background
4) choose an atmospheric color! I place this layer right beneath my flats - more on it later!
5) Lighting! I wanted something nice and warm but not too harsh. I place my lighting layer above my atmosphere color layer and beneath my flats.
6) Bring the flats back and set the flats layer mode to 'overlay'
7) Using a multiply layer, I added in some shadows where I felt they were needed
8) Some extra lighting touches!
9) Finishing effects! A bloom effect using gaussian blur and some static noise texture.
