We're excited to announce a huge update for the BLFX Assets & Animation Editor – Free Version! It now includes sound integration, summoning, active effects, teleportation basically, you can now create almost any animation you can imagine, just like in the premium version.
With this update, we’re opening our $3 Tier to 100 new members. This tier gives you access to the premium version, which includes nearly 1,000 high-quality assets specifically made for the module, so your animations look great even on 300px density maps.
The module is also JB2A compatible, allowing you to create animations using JB2A assets, BLFX, or both together, however you prefer.

In this BLFX release, we've added automatic recognition for lanterns. You can now import lanterns from the PHB or SRD items compendium, and they will light the environment as expected. The Hooded Lantern includes a menu that lets you lower its light radius, just like in the item description.
In the BLFX items compendium, you'll also find a customizable lantern where you can adjust the light settings as desired.

The new adventure is here.
A Trail into the Dark is a one-shot adventure for characters level 6 to 7, designed to be played from start to finish in a single session.
The story takes place within a cavern system that leads into the Underdark.
Features:
Animated Portrait Tokens – unique high-quality animated tokens that respond dynamically in combat, flipping toward their targets when attacking.
Battlemaps - 2 preconfigured maps with dynamic lighting, walls, and ambient effects.
Magic Items - 3 unique interactive magic items.
Comprehensive Journal - journals covering lore, magic items, encounters, and key NPCs.
Spells and abilities - used by creatures are fully customized and animated. For example, Darkness can be cast using a template or attached to a token, so the effect moves with it.
UI & Macros - for example one that controls web visibility with burning and shredding animations.
(Optional) Spell & Ability Animations – Full visual animated effects when using our BLFX Assets & Animation Editor module.
The adventure is designed to take pressure off the GM and keep things running smoothly for players, so you spend less time prepping and more time playing.

Hello everyone!
In this release, we’ve added an interactive torch to the BLFX Assets & Animation Editor module, bringing more tactical depth to the game.
This is by far the most used item by players, and now they can actually have one they can interact with.
You can light or extinguish it, throw it on the ground to illuminate a specific area, or even use it as a weapon.
Note: The torch only works in Foundry VTT D&D 5e v4 system.
Important Updates
Renamed the compendium folder from "Boss Loot FX Macros Premium" to "Boss Loot FX Premium".
Added a new compendium for Items.
Added a new compendium for Actors.
Sometimes, Foundry may mess up the compendiums and folders. Make sure to organize Boss Loot folder like this.

On this occasion, I want to share a bit more about BLFX development.
In this release, we've added new sleek vertical attack animations for the short sword, long sword, and warhammer. We created the weapons in Blender and rendered the assets at high resolution to maintain graphic fidelity, even at full zoom on the Foundry canvas.
Our goal is to add both vertical and horizontal attack animations for every weapon in the game. In fact, we've already modeled all the weapons. Now we need to texture them, add trails, and animate them.

Hi everyone!
In this release we’ve added a new interactive torch, probably one of the most useful and versatile items in D&D. Any character can carry and use it however they like. It has animations for every activity. You can light or extinguish it, throw it on the ground to illuminate a specific area, or even use it as a weapon. It’s a simple but powerful tool that adds a lot of tactical depth to the game.

Adventure Overview: Shrine of Oaths
Shrine of Oaths is a D&D 5e adventure for levels 3-4 party, blending dark fantasy, mystery, and dungeon crawling. The adventure is perfect for groups who enjoy haunting atmospheres and uncovering forgotten history
Once a sacred ground, this forgotten shrine was sealed long ago, guarded by the spirits of those who swore to protect it—even in death.
A recent collapse in the ruins has exposed the shrine’s entrance, and the party is tasked with finding Sir Emil Corvian, a knight sent to investigate the shrine alongside his men. What they uncover within its halls may test their courage, honor, and fate itself.

I'm happy to announce that this release for the Boss Loot FX Assets & Animation Editor module, adds new animations for bows, crossbows, arrows, and bolts, with Auto Recognition for ranged and melee weapons in D&D 5e & PF2e.
Bows and crossbows can be used with any arrows and bolts in any combination.
We've added animations for normal, fire, frost, poison, blood, and arcane effects for bows and bolts.
Additionally, we've added bow and crossbow animations in multiple colors.
This update includes over 90+ animation files!

This release it’s much bigger than our previous adventures, packed with a lot of new features, and we’re excited to finally share it with you!
The Tower of the Broken Mind is a one-shot adventure designed for level 5–6 groups. This adventure includes:

Functionality Updates
Improved transfer of animations from standard to premium.
D&D v4 only: Migration from activity name to activity ID. Main benefit is that animations now work on renamed activities.
How it works: The migration uses a lazy migration approach to ensure backward compatibility. All items that currently have defined animations will continue to work. New items will always use activity IDs. Old items defined with activity names will be migrated automatically during the first animation update.

Hi everyone!
As we wrap up the year, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters! Your continued support and feedback have been invaluable, and we’re excited to continue this journey with you into 2025.
With the release of DnD v4, we’ve realized that maintaining two very different versions of the game for our encounter modules is simply not sustainable. Therefore, starting January 2025, we will no longer update Boss Loot Basic and Boss Loot Automation with new content. These modules, compatible with DnD v3, will still be available for download for a few more months. This shift will allow us to dedicate more time and resources to providing the best possible experience for the latest version.
To that end, we’re thrilled to introduce Boss Loot One-Shot Adventures Premium! This new module for DnD v4 includes all encounters and works without any additional dependencies. If you’re using Sequencer and BLFX Assets & Animation Editor Premium, you’ll also enjoy animated effects for the encounters. This module is exclusively available to our Legendary Looters tier.

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)
No escape from the frost... no escape from me!
This grotesque heavy trophy of a giant abomination.
Frost Missile. As an action, once per short rest, you can unleash a freezing missile from its mouth at a point you can see within 60ft. The missile explodes in a 15ft radius, dealing 6d6 cold damage to all creatures in the area. Each creature must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking half damage on a success.
Curse. After you use this ability, your movement speed is reduced by 5ft for 1 hour as frost forms on your body.

Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement)
"Through dragon fire, I will rid you of your sins."
Even after the dragon's death, the horn continues to burn and can functions as a torch, shedding bright light in a 30ft radius and dim light for an additional 30ft. The flames cannot be extinguished by non-magical means.
Dragon Fire. Once per short rest, as a bonus action, you can unleash a 30ft cone of draconic fire from the horn. Each creature in the area must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking [[/roll 6d6]] fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

The Boss Loot FX Animation Editor allows you to add animations to anything and is compatible with DnD 5e v4, v3, and PF2e. You might be wondering what sets it apart from Automated Animations (AA). This module features an 'Animation Script' section that autocompletes based on your selections in the 'Animation Configuration' settings. If you’re a macro guru, you can further customize by modifying the macro here.
In DnD 5e v4, you can assign separate animations to different activities. For example, you can have an item with five distinct activities, each with its own unique animation. This is perfect for homebrew items and abilities, and it works seamlessly with both BLFX and JB2A assets.
