The Color Purple (1985)

Even though this movie is super old, it still made me cry like a baby. This movie was so emotional and touching. I would 10/10 recommend this movie to anyone who has not seen it. Don't forget to grab your popcorn and blankets and ENJOY!

Much Love, MJ ❤️

In the book, Mister was the father of all Suge's children.

This isn't a request. No matter if you do a reaction or just watch it for yourself, you should see the new version of The Color Purple with Taraji P. Henson in it. It's closer to the book than this movie. This movie is better in some ways, and the newer in others. Edit: The butter that Mister took out didn't melt because the "cabinet" was an ice box (precursor to a refrigerator). When Misters' father talks about Shug having "that nasty women's disease", I think he's talking about gonorrhea. Celie isn't obsessed with Shug, but Mister is 1000% obsessed. At the end of the movie, Mister kicked his dad out because he started talking about how Mister needs to get a new young wife to take care of the house. Mister apparently doesn't want another wife. Celie's "father" had the best death a man can have. Death...by Snu Snu. He should have suffered though.0.

Netty hit him in the nuts when they were in the bushes because he was trying to rape her in the bushes when she was on her way to school but yeah this movie is so sad

This movie was in heavy rotation in my household growing up. You should watch Beloved. It starrs Danny Glover & Oprah Winfrey.

Marlon Bellamy

This movie starts off in the 1900's and around that time it was very common for older men to marry girls in their teens on account that they were easier to get pregnant. It is something that is still done in many places around the world today. Also the actress who plays Netti is an actual Guanian princess named Akosua Busia..
