it was time someone tell Alpha he shouldn't read obscure webcomics.
Some trivia I don't think I've shared anywhere,
back when I was writing and imagining Derideal part 2, the LRE comic story was going to be something Alpha would look into for "inspiration" as it influenced him in some way, the LRE comic story, it also reflects the feelings he has in some way, and reflects a bit the "lost love" idea, and Alpha being a servant of a bigger power, he would sometimes think of himself as a knight, it also relate to the Derideal story in the sense of a "failed knight", someone who failed to protect his love and kingdom.
anyway, it was something I scrapped later on from the story, but it explain why I also made the actual comic, which is something I don't think most people understood back in the day, but it's supposed to be a comic that exist in the Derideal comic world :)
I decided to keep the comic in the story, but playing it as some part of the "lessons" important for Alpha, as he shouldn't keep secrets and read things without his masters knowing.

It's a lot more high brow than most books hidden in a teenager's room. I can see why he's drawn to stories about being heroic in the only ways you can be given your life circumstances.
