I've been back from my trip a few days now and it's nice to have some proper tools to work with again. But I was rather disappointed to discover that I had forgotten to pause all windows updates before I left. So my grand scheme of using my away time to render an animation came empty handed. A couple of days into the render Windows decided it was high time to install an update and reboot my PC. So that was 100 hours down the drain:-/. But I'm trying to make up for it by rendering the animation in smaller chunks, so my PC can work while I sleep (I can't do anything on my PC while it renders). Afterwards I'll just edit it together into a single file.
When it comes to the resolution increase, I think all the quirks have been sorted out. It turned out to be somewhat more complex than I first thought. But once you start down that path, it's not easy to turn back. And it's nice to have a bit sharper renders.
Scripting-wise I've gotten a lot done the past week, but the majority still remains. This time the new events affect all the villagers in town, so all of them need to have more script added. This was a bit of a pain to figure out, but luckily that part is now done. Still, I think I need at least two more weeks of pure script work to get the remaining events up and running. I also would like to render two more scenes for the update, so it looks like my end of October release goal is going to slip. But I'll do what I can.
On a more positive note: It looks like the problems with saving the game on OSX have been sorted, so the next update will also be available for Mac users.
