I’m no computer expert, but I don’t think liquid cooling PCs means putting them in a room with standing water

I think Heather has a point this time. Also, Nick, don't do that again!

One piece (and one pace) is C tier at best. This recomendation from Albro is similar to Nick recommending "Evil does not exist" movie, just avoid at any cost if you appreciate your time left on earth.

How has none of the listeners told Heather about One Pace before? Here's some One Piece viewing tips from a long time fan: 1. One Pace absolutely is the optimal way to watch. Especially past the first 1/3 of the series. At that point the pacing starts slowing to a crawl due to the common issue of the weekly anime catching up to the manga it's adapting. One Pace fixes that, and frankly is a labor of love and well worth watching over the original. They even kept in some of the better anime-only material, including the fan favorite "G-8 arc" stretch of filler episodes. 2. Now, as far as movies go; they are not canon but here's what I recommend watching: Movie 6 (Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island) is really unique and critically acclaimed. Movie 10 (Strong World) is the point where the original author starts getting involved and the production values skyrocket. While its story is not technically canon, the characters and world building elements appearing are. Same goes for every subsequent movie from that point on. So, Baron Omatsuri Strong World Film Z Film Gold Stampede Film Red are all well worth a watch. 3. The manga absolutely is a thing. In fact it is the main thing for most fans (especially in Japan). That's the one that broke record sales and has people clamoring for a new chapter every week. The anime is nice and all, but until the very latest arcs it's frankly not a particularly high quality work of animation. Still a good watch, especially if you stick with One Pace. The manga, however, is an actual masterpiece of its medium. As opposed to merely a serviceable adaptation in a different one. Absolutely worth reading. Essential, even. 4. I think the entire "wait until you get to the good part" notion is kind of whack and not the best mindset to enjoy One Piece. Don't expect the series to suddenly shift in tone after a certain point and become something else. That's never happening. I suggest, instead (as cliche as it sounds) to keep in mind that the journey is more important than the destination, and simply enjoy the ride. Enjoy the adventures, the characters, the worldbuilding, the humor. A note on the humor, especially: One Piece is in large part a comedy. The amount of gags is far higher than something like Naruto. The author, Eiichiro Oda, has even stated that he intentionally tries to keep things light even in serious situations. It's why he made the shonen fighting protagonist a stretchy goofball in the first place. So don't expect the catharsis, tragedy, and character drama to be fully similar in tone to Naruto. Or for any characters to be going full edgelord and such. Having said that, when the big cathartic moments and the angst DO hit, they hit so much harder due to the long build up and lighter tone acting as a foil. Which leads to a lot of fans singling out those moments as "the part where it gets good". Anyway, I hope you enjoy one of the greatest (and lengthiest) adventure stories ever made. Sorry for getting too wordy on ya, and keep on being the most entertaining podcast on my feed, you guys!

Its probably worth mentioning the creator of this show went on to make one of the best Digimon series ( with the worst ending that he doubled down on) so I think he might like making tweens miserable

Heather of all the new animes to watch, you should have know you would hate twisted wonderland. You could have started Kingdom an anime about the warring states in ancient china, you could have started Gnosia which is basically among us the anime, hell you could have watched Sanada which is about a boy who when he sees red turns into Santa Claus. But you choose the one anime that screams this ain't for Heather. Also it has no girls cause the anime is based on a Bishonen (pretty boy) gacha game I love how Heather is like "there isn't one girl in this anime" and I go as opposed to every other anime made since time began. Can you shut up and let me watch pretty boys blush and make suggestive homoerotic comments to one another in peace woman!

Hey Nick, I was also recently diagnosed with OCD and just wanted to say I appreciated you sharing about it and your description really clicked for me and just made me feel a bit better. Thank you!

Not sure y'all know but the Knights are a reference to an old school hacker joke/myth, The Knights of the Lambda Calculus. The logo is a reference to the Freemasons. There's a lot of references like this in the series. Worth looking into to get a grasp of how "chronically online" this show was, before that was a term.

If Junji Ito is not horrific enough for you, might I suggest Shintaro Kago. I’ve never been so thoroughly revolted as when I was reading one of his mangas.
