2024-10-22 21:14:27 +0000 UTCAmong the first instances that 10 began repeating allons-y as his let's go catchphrase. He rambled off that he wanted to meet someone called Alonso, so he could say allons-y Alonso. So this character was a nice call back to that monent. Aspects of the story for this episode I think is a sort of combination of two sinking ships stories brought to film. Obviously the Titanic, but also I think there are a number of references to The Poseidon Adventure as well. The actor who played Mr Copper, Clive Swift, was also in a Classic Who story in the 80s. Interestingly there was also a character who was portrayed as a head in a box in that too. Maybe a coincidence. Kylie Minogue has been very well known in the UK since the 80s. She was an actress first, before becoming a very successful singer, internationally. No so much in the US. She was part of a popular Australian soap for a few years. Which has been a pit stop for quite a number of Australian performers of the decades.

2024-10-22 16:07:09 +0000 UTCAt the end of this episode they establish the exchange rate of 50:1 for Sto credits to British pounds. This means Foon spent just £100 on those tickets and if it will take them 20 years to pay it off the Van Hoff's can only save about £5 a year between them!! Obviously a lot of wealth inequality on Sto 😭
