You mentioned it would be really cool to just have the master hanging out on the tardis, well this idea was done immediately prior to new who. There was a short, animated attempt to revive the show through a web series and one episode, "the scream of the shalka" included an android that had the Masters consciousness, but it wasn't able to leave the tardis or outright hurt the doctor.

2024-10-15 17:50:24 +0000 UTCPersonally, I loved this season final and, of course, the reveal that Jack is / will be the Face of Boe, I mean … I will remember how I felt hearing it and also definitely your reaction. A few ideas: how often did Jack die in one year of being tortured? Lucy eventually killed the master and there where talks of skies filled with diamonds, so Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds? Psychedelic drug references with the paradox machine? I cannot wait until it is Saturday to see you react to the short ‘Time crash’ special.

2024-10-15 15:14:57 +0000 UTCI like the fact that Jack being the Face of Boe also closes what might have otherwise been a weak plot point in that the whole prophecy aspect and cryptic YANA = You Are Not Alone felt a bit vague and weird to me (why would the face of Boe have this random bit of info that didn’t really impact how anything played out) until you realize that Jack was with them on that whole adventure and met Yana. So his message to the Doctor about what’s about to occur is just a teaser to their future from his own past history.

Well, the version you're watching is missing a small scene where just after the Doctor says killing him isn't the solution, she takes that gun and almost kills the Master, but the Doctor talks her down and she throws the gun away, which is how Lucy gets it. Also, there was a segment in the beginning when the Master first shows up, he enters the room vibing to "I can't decide" by Scissor Sisters
