I actually ship Kirito X Asuna, but my favorite girl is a tie between Sugu/Leafa and Sinon. Glad Sinon made a second in August poll and that's why she's being drawn here.

Let's talk about this SAO for a little... This is just my opinion of why I like this series... 

Most of you probably have heard how this anime got so heavily bashed upon hearing it's the best anime of the year and shit and people began looking through it and it went way below expectation... yeah SAO lacks soooo many things. It is no where near any level of being said the best anime. In fact, it'd even hardly make a top 20 for many people. It could serve as one of the best purpose for many though, as a starter anime.

While people judges that SAO lacks good story, the theme starts out great but the whole plot sucks, characters are missing development, Kirito makes nonsense shit, so many stupid fillers, the anime doesn't portrait the key elements of an online game, and an unnecessary harem factors. Yeah lol this is all true.

But the point is that... What are you looking for while watching this anime?

To me, SAO is more like a love story of Kirito and Asuna, with lots of bad fillers. I don't expect a good "online game anime" at all since we have .HACK for that and no anime would ever beat it, not even the so called Log Horizon that people always compare it to SAO. 

While I watch SAO, I see a complete romantic story of a young couple, with a deadly online game as a platform, a good use of elements that could bring such young people into a life-risking setup and make them fall in love. The ALO arc that people says it sucks and brought down the series, I really love it. I love the heart breaking Suguha that unlucky enough to fall in an impossible love with the same guy. Twice. It's brilliant. And with even so many fillers, the part towards the ending of the 2nd arc was so great. (May be because I'm into NTR stuffs also...) Got so excited while reading the novel of it... and the ending was beautiful.

And yeah the 3rd arc and whole 2nd season is a nonsense filler, but Sinon is really cute so that's forgiven.

So the conclusion is that, I don't mind bashing this anime at all, since people doing it always comes up with reason that I don't care. They don't expect things I expect from this anime, which in that case, SAO tends to do really great for me. I still won't call it the best for sure, but definitely in my top 10.

Respect the opinion even though it doesn't sound nice to you, at least I'll try to live up to my motto, that is.
